brand spanking new HX35.. I wont say how much I paid

I was going to try making my own flange, but I bought some 3" vbands instead.
btw, what are you guys doing for the compressor outlet?

Would I want the HY35 if I were to be using this on a stock D16 with the exception of ARP head studs? I'm only looking to make ~200 HP before I build the bottom end.
so lets get this straightened out. you can just swap different sized exhaust housings between common holsets? simple as just bolting it on and leaving the turbine? strange.
im wondering because i have the 92-93 spec big H1c and it has the 18.5cm housing and i was looking for something a little smaller to run on my built b16.

For the v-band compressor outlet i just grind off the v-band and run a 2.5" coupler.
anyone got a center section clamp for a HE351CW (i think a HY35 will work). or a lead on where to pick one up?
Cheers
edit: The part number for the v-band clamp is 3595658. Use the local distributor locator to find a retailer near you.

hey guys..
going to be building a z6 turbo.. and I want to do a holset...
going to do fjt vitara's + custom length rods and probably run a stock head...(at least for the time being)
I'm thinking the hy35 would be a good fit?? I want to something with a good bit of torque, and something that doesn't just make power from 5k and up...
the 9cm2 housing I think would help accomplish the lower end spool..???
what are you thoughts?

How are you guys getting the measurements for the CM housing on the HX35's? I have an HX35W and I'm having a hard time determining the cm housing size and it'd be nice to know. One more thing I need to make a downpipe, where can a man pick up a V band adapter to weld to a downpipe?
There are no options that I know of for the HY35 or HE351 because they are Vband conected to the CHRA.
Here is another option for aftermarket housings outside of BEP's .70ar housing..... http://www.htturbo.com/thnew.htm
As for finding out what size housing you currently have.... I would suggest researching the DSMturners many Holset threads. The part#'s and corresponding housings are in there somewhere.
By the way, I got my Holset up and running about 3 weeks ago on my SR20. It made 372whp at 16psi on pump gas on a cast log mani and a 12cm2 housing. I will be back on the dyno this Friday going for 25psi on race gas. I'm looking for somewhere around 450whp before I run out of injectors with my 72lb(750cc).
Oh yeah, for the compressor outlet Vband, I took the compressor housing off and put the vband on a belt sandr and trimmed it down to a little over 2.5". Leaving a lip to help my 2.5" silicone coupler get a little grip.

If you do not want lag on your sohc, dont go holset
where can i find info on the Holset turbos? i've neve rheard of them before but it loks like they are popular? i'd be putting it on a stock gsr if anyone can point me in a good direction
Just recently a me and a few of my friends have discovered the holset way..
I am running a Hx35 with 16cm exhaust on my B16a (yet to be wired and tuned), my friend ''raymond' has just starterd using a HX35 with 14cm exhaust housing and is about to upgrde to a HX40 6 blade compressor. While a friend 'Rob' has a HX50 swinging off the side of his 1JZ in a MK3 supra and he also has a HX35 with a HX40 billet compressor wheel going on a gen 1 MR2.
Raymond has recently swapped from a TD-07s and has noticed the hx35 has 500rpm at least more spool time but also has a considerable amount more back pressure.
has anyone else noticed high back pressure ratios?

I have a HX35W on a B16a fully build Benson style sleeves etc....
But its very strange, the Anti lag of the car with Neptune variable is very strange...
1 time works as it should work, that you hear bang bang bang and building boost ect.
other time it juist begin to spool up as a idiot and doesnt bang....
And for my feeling it has very late boost, i have boost around 5500k and from 7500 to 9k rpm it begins to pull very hard. I must admit i have a little bit a problem with boostcreep, spring is set @10psi and it pulls out to 16 psi... (the car is tuned till 22psi before people begin to think im an idiot). but my question is it maybe that im having boostcreep that the turbo begins to spool very late?
Because i hear every where that the holset is a very nice turbo and it spools like hell etc....
heres a movie that u hear that the Antilag just spools up and doesnt bang out of the exhaust.

Sorry for my bad English (im from the Netherlands)

what manifold are you running? I have a top mount and it spools fairly quick. you might want to check your gaskets and flanges, make sure there are no leaks on the exhaust and boost side.
i just picked up my hx40w and i got a few questions about it. if you look at the first picture theres a galvenized ring in there and wondering if i should take it out because its covering the anti-surge part of the housing? next in the second picture it shows the pocket where the wastegate gases dispose should i have that welded shut for better flow?
the exhaust housing is divided i was planning on knife edging the center divider what do you guys think? lastly how can you tell the size of your ehaust housing? the guy i bought it from said her belives its a 12cm but i want to confirm it.
thanks
john

For the guys asking how to tell what size the exhaust housing is all of the ones I have dealt with have a two digit number stamped inside the turbine inlet.
