Yes, the 12cm2 would be much better. about like my HX35 (a little more lag than the HY35 but more power potential at high boost)

Anyone else besides aero(which I've been following your thread closely on hmt) are using the he351 vgt holsets?..I just got my hands on 1. And would like to know dimensions(still in the mail)..of it..to see what type of manifold I create to fit it in the engine bay of a 92 accord

2.2L
F22a block (85mm)
Pauter rods
Cp 9:1 pistons
Arp headbolt/rod bolt combo

H23a dohc non vtec head
282 cams
Supporting valvetrain

Trying to make between 400-500..and after seeing aeros success on his setup..and the spool characteristics using a internal wastegate to actuate the vanes..arnt bad at all..

Basiclly the reason why going for the vgt instead of the hx35 or 40..
Is because we want both track monster and street sprinter..

For the street we can keep the vanes closed a lil more and have faster spool..blah blah blah..you already know this..

Anybody else have pics..

Im tired of looking on google and getting directed to everywhere aero has posted..hahaha..( no offense)

I have a 12cm2 housing (hx35/h1c) that I'm lookingto trade for a 9cm2.. Anyone interested?

Also, I would be careful of turbotrader.com . I paid over $220 for a bullseye hx40 housing (to fit a toyota 3sgte) 8 months ago, and never got it. I only ended up with a $50 refund as well.. Shady guy ..

Find them on Ebay or Diesel shops or off Dodge Cummins pick-ups in salvage yards
HX35W has an integral wastegate and HX35 doesn't

so lets get this straightened out. you can just swap different sized exhaust housings between common holsets? simple as just bolting it on and leaving the turbine? strange.

im wondering because i have the 92-93 spec big H1c and it has the 18.5cm housing and i was looking for something a little smaller to run on my built b16.

I find some of the things I read in this thread so funny.

I run a H1C 18.5 cm on my 7.5:1 cr z6 and have no spool issues whatsoever.

Who the hell needs boost at 3k rpm unless your road racing ?

Bullshit. Street racer money makers dont need spool. They leave on boost and never look back.

BTW if you know Brett, tell him hes gay.

The HY35s use a vband to attach it to the bearing housing, whereas the HX35 uses bolts and clamps. The housings are NOT interchangable.
As far as I know, you are stuck with the 9cm2 housing, this is the only housing Ive seen on HY35s.

I believe I have seen vids of your setup flying down the track.
It seems the car hauls some serious *** but just out of curiosity, what RPM do you acheieve full boost with your 18.5cm2 housing? It takes about 5000rpm for me to see 10 psi with my 9cm2 HY35.
If I hadnt seen your setup id think the 18.5 woudl never spool on a d. Are you using antilag? Full throttle shifting? What type of manifold?

24.5 psi by a touch after 6k. Last season I didnt use an anti-lag, but I have in the past and will this season.
Yes full throttle shifting. Always. Ive used cast manifolds and my current tubular log. Spool has been nearly identical.

quite interesting. And I thought my 9cm2 hy35 was big, LOL. I was actually thinking about downgrading to a gt2871r for a while, just to make the car more "street" worthy. But then I thought, who the hell drives below 5000rpm in a honda anyways?

yea well most of my racing will be on the track unfortunately untill moroso opens back up. but yea i am hoping that the hy35 will not be to restrictive. i am thinking eventually I will have to upgrade a bit. 400whp is the goal but i have a feeling that wont be to hard and my motor is more than capable of that. atleast people have proven it is and my tuner is good so......we will see what happens.
