They go low enough. Knowing you, you would mess with the preload anyways so it doesnt even matter.

I never went maxed out on mine, but I can tell you that from this height, it could easily go down another 2 inches and maybe even 3 without messing with the preload. I bottomed out at that height on some bad bumps but it was pretty drivable on flat roads. At lowest you would bottom out often for sure. They are too soft for that height because they will compress an inch or 2 so you really are looking for something really stiff and harsh riding.

Obviously you want to do something that is NOT possible.

You want to spend little, touch frame with the ground and want to have a decent ride. Not possible man, just do it right if you want to attempt it. Dont half *** if riding low is really what you want. Like the picture below, you think its high dont you? Its damn low but whatever.

You need to cut your shock towers to give more room for the UCAs to move, then you need to hack up the chassis bc the axles will touch frame. Then you will need to make sure your suspension is in good shape because it will not last very long with the increased stress. Then you will need to bump up the springrates and dampening to at least 12k and more realistically 14k or 16k.

^^here is mine with the preload dropped in the front. not gonna lie, it rode like complete **** when the preload is dropped all the way. And being on 55 series tires....worst rubbing evarrrr

otherwise, they go pretty low without messing with it, and they ride great! I'd recommend them to anyone.

that being said, if i had smaller tires, it wouldn't have been that bad. When i hit some bumps though it sounded like i was killing my car. So i raised it for now. lol

lol no that was the front with preload dropped. Here is its current height, rear is too low for the front right now. No time to mess with it, and it's too cold now haha

Here are some pictures of my old car on type 1s the front was all the way done with out messing with the preload. I know HBK knows it all but these are as low as they would go on my 97 with out dropping the load. The back on the other hand could have went down and other 2 inches lol.

So guys, how do these handle? I don't really think the car will be tracked, but I love killing exit ramps and back roads, if there capable of that, I'm sold

I agree, i've heard someone say they might be alittle soft for auto x though...and i can see why that'd be true even though i haven't tried auto x.

I'm curious what the type 2s feel like

These are Function and Forms, theres no function when your frame is touching pavement.

I understand everyone has their own styles but I don't see how any of you can drive around and deal with awful ride quality being slammed with messed up preloads.

who said it drove like ****? it drives awesome if you take into consideration the ride quality for a car 1 inch from the ground.

Yes i messed with the preload, but like i posted earlier. i said i also worked the coilovers (no slack in the spring as well as worked with the coilovers to get it lower.)

My post speaks truth. These coilovers do not go low without messing with the preload.

plus i never said i whip turns like im a road car

there is no function in my car. im going for form over function.

You dont have to say it drives like ****, I know it does lol. I dont care what suspension you have; when your frame touches the pavement, your car rides like ****. Period.

Its fine to have form over function, Im not debating that. Its just crappy having to be super careful how you drive and even then you're going to bottom out often and feel every bump on the road. If you can deal with it I guess, have fun.

They definitely go low. The wagons seem to not tuck as much as other cars but if you're tucking low profile tires, you're low. These will go low enough for most people that want to be low, look at all the cars on this page without messed up preloads.

Im glad they are where they are. I'm near the highest setting and in the back theres like a 1 inch gap and in the front theres 1.75ish gap but could be 2.75ish at the highest. This is good because its still really low but I wish I could go higher for the winter. Considering that on 14in wheels I'm going to be another inch lower so its like tucking winter tires for the snow lol. If they were to go lower, then I would always tuck tire no matter what which is not what everyone wants/needs.
