Function and Form coilover thread
5k miles later....
rear is all the way up.
front is heighten to match the rear.
21" from middle of headlamp to the ground (dc2).
2.5" tire/fender gap.
i've been riding like this since the day of installation. and so far, i think say they ride smoother than what i had before -another 2k more miles and i'm slamming it. can anyone tell me why the ride feels smoother when it's a packed car?

Just got my type 1s last week love them! got both of them turned all the way down, pretty slammed but would like to go lower in the front little bit so ill have to mess with the preload but the two perches below the spring for the preload almost dont want to come lose, shouldnt they though? or is it just me not trying hard enough..answers? Ill post pics this weekend when its nice. getting all this shitty weather in pa
I have FF type 1's and they ride really nice!
the only thing is I purchased them with my car already installed, so don't have the manual...and I'm trying to adjust my height to make it sit a bit higher and not sure how to...can anyone help???

Yeah unless ur preload was messed with. You have to take the coils off of the lca and adjust them that way since they have the threaded shock body its only height adjustable you have to do it from the bottom
if the two prech is really stuck to each other good, you can spin the entire shocks with springs without touching preload up and down without taking off the suspension.
Oh foreal? I didnt even try to raise mine yet i have mine maxed all around, I just figured youd have to take it off. haha goodlookin man! Also, to mess with the preload both of the perches under the spring should come apart correct? and then you start adjusting the preload on the spring
I posted a few pages back but its been about 6 months now that ive had the Type 1's and i figured id post another pic of how it currently sits.

what if you mess with the pre load by raising it? would that mess up the shock? i got lazy the other day and raised it that way. it was only about 1/4 of an inch.
btw, i have had these for a few months and i think they rock. no complaints on my end

Yeah, there is a thread about it if you want other people's opinion.

I have about 3 to 4 hrs. of aliment time palying with diffrent height set ups. It got to the point to where I had to use the GTR rack @ work and after it was all said and done it came out the way I liked it. For what they are they are great for street maybe light track duty. But even after setting the preload front and rear to where I like them, they are still a bit to soft for my taste even after all that. Here is a pic of my ride.....
