The first time I swapped pumps in the rex it was a chore. full tank of gas and everything.
Just did it in the beater a few weeks ago, and it was cake. did it in the parking lot of the apartments within an hour. Had a 1/4 tank of gas and lost a lot of gas, but overall, not a terrible job. Used to be much worse. LOL

with the rear of the car on jack stands, it took my friend all of 15 minutes or less to drop the fuel tank. it looked very easy...well watching someone who knows how to do it.
was nervous taking my car on it's first road trip since in about a year, but just got back from SC, snow and all.

Sorry, coming with those pictures.. got well over a foot of snow dumped on us. just happy to have both rex's inside!
draining the tank first makes the job a lot easier... first time sucks.. especially with old rusted hard-lines. Wish it was as simple as Eg and Ek's..
On a Santa Note: boy do I miss being young, the older I get the more I spend and less I receive... I know, season for giving.. but no one gave me wheels, seats, fuel lines or a roll bar! hahaa.. My girl did surprise me with some cool stuff and tickets to a monster truck show!
Close enough to an EF note..
check out this 87 hatch!

I know this is the wrong place to ask this, but everyone in this thread is always so friendly and helpful....
Anyone in the Seattle/Tacoma area want to make some cash and help me do a DPFI-MPFI swap? Pizza will also be provided! I work at a pizza place lol.
I have everything but I have no where to work on my car and almost all my tools are packed away in storage.
I feel confident I could do the swap, but if I ran into wiring trouble shooting I'd be lost.

Need fellow EF members help.
My car is getting painted and also some engine bay work done.
I need to see if you guys can post some pictures you may have on your hard drive of EF ENGINE BAY (with or with out motor, shaved, or semi-shaved) so I can show some the difference between semi-shaved and full shaved bays
I have a few pictures of kerry's gunmetal ef bay and 3-4 others ones found on the "shaved bay, wire tuck" mega thread...
Thanks guys

traction bar discussion.....:
i ordered a weirtech flange kit to fab a traction bar.

and a piece of 2" dom wall to suit that. gonna make ends on the tube that bolt to the original holes for xmember. and use the tow hook holes also. my question is about heim joints/rodends.
I have the tubing and heims to do both ends of the rod, but looking at innovatives design for the Race traction bar for the EF/DA, looks like they just use the original design of the ef radius rod on the LCA side and slot the front hole for caster adjustment. I guess my question is Why do a rod end at both ends of the bar when i can leave the original design on the LCA end and just use a rod end on the bar end of the radius rod. instead of the suspension compressing and the ends possibly getting in a bind or excessive wear from "wiggle" i could just let the suspension take its natural "oem" designed curvature? i mean it doesnt compress that much.
any feedback, arguments, help? lmk
BTW heres the innovative design.

CBE, where did you get that valve cover?
looks like one of our old "075" valve covers from our group of buddies from 6 years ago or so...only seen a couple that got sold though, most of us still have them.
as for the traction bar, make sure you take a couple measurments to make sure you dont position the wheel too far backwards or forwards...get that length right.

yeah my plan was to take measurements, take off the stock xmember and fab straight from there with out moving anything to keep it close to stock.
but think the ends will work like that? thanks in advance man

Weird how the second hole to the flca is "slotted" for caster adjustment. I have the race bar and I assumed caster was better adjusted from the threaded heim joints.
It's weird to use my last name (Caster) in a sentence so much. Haha.
