I think the key is fender rolling and more than -3 camber...along with offset of course! With the 949's, it's really just the first two action items I mentioned.
I should have pics in January of the new look for the track car...Have to order the 225 tires and get an alignment with the skunk pieces. Will be running the 15x8's up front and now that they make 15x7's, I'll run those in the rear instead of my RPF1's.

i've been riding trails/singletrack again heavily..just bought a mildly built-up gary fisher aquila, just a simple chromo MTB.
i love it. been riding it a couple miles to work every day, took off the front derailleur, been having a blast with it.
thinking of getting an indoor trainer and rolling on my old schwinn world tour (i think its a 1991 or something).
highly enjoying my newly re-found hobby. been dropping LBS fast too.

As for the 225 fitment, all this info is much needed, and I thank you all for your contributions.

Congrats dude. I recently bought a Kurt Kinetic Road Machine indoor trainer. It is awesome. Has a ton of progressive resistance, and is really quiet. Bikes are fun, inside training however is not. That's the nice thing about being quiet, you can watch a movie and focus on something else.

VR4, I am only 5' 10", and Miatas are cramped for me to fit in. I've always liked VR4s anyway. Not a big 4g63t fan, but they can make allot of power. I just had bad luck with the one I had. As for your bicycle purchase. Sounds good to me. I just spent $180 on a new saddle that retails for $300, so the fact you are buying an entire bicycle for $5 less seems awesome.
i too closed on a house this past april and have done a ton of work on it. looks like we used similar colors for our living room.here's my house project thread http://shift518.com/showthread.php?t=17163
i haven't updated it since may. but have had a ton more work done.
a house, if you pay for 30 years, is really a terrible investment...if you do regular improvements, pay for a full 30 years, etc, your lucky to break-even in 30 years (in the past), and for our generation, its really most likely not going to be so nice..
its a place to live, etc...
every situation is different, but i have a LOT of friends to who paid too much before the bubble burst, are getting killed on property taxes, and will never get their money out...
but, you gotta live somewhere...might as well enjoy fixing it up. i think its fun, if not slightly stressful..haha

i got my house for a steal due to the market crash. the price of my house has no where to go but up. plus, it's a great write off for income taxes. we are probably going to get an extra $6-8k this year in a refund due to us getting a house.
but, i understand what you're saying in that regards. it depends on the situation. for me, it's cheaper to own than to rent. rent by me for this house would be $1200 plus utilities vs $950 for mortgage which includes taxes.
