The Official EF Discussion Thread
yeah for sure this time
time to invest in a real family car wife, kids, dog, chinchilla and whatever bugs they catch in the lawn

I already parted the mugen kit. I knew it wouldn't sell for my asking price with the kit so I sold it first and adjusted the price.
Sold the wheels, steering wheel and keeping the bucket probably

I chose something newer and safer to haul the kids in. I know the EF is a tin can and wouldn't survive a cell-phone-using-soccer mom in a 3 ton SUV.

Vega, GLWS.... sad to see another EF'r go. Im sure you will be lurking tho!
Was at my local dealer today, standing at parts behind an old man who was trying to return a thermostat, he was complaining about the re-stocking fee b/c he had not even picked the part up, he just wanted to cancel the order. So Im listening slightly and I hear him say " Someone is gonna buy this part eventually, its considered one of the greatest sports cars ever made"...parts guy says "Sir, this is a real old part!"... now Im interested, as the guy is done I ask him what kind of car he is talking about, and of course he drops on me.. "A crx HF, the lightweight one." Im smiling ear to ear at this point! So I start talking to this guy about everything, powder blue, manual trans, original owner. He was having a new muffler put on through warranty still! ( not sure how he finagled that!)... He just had it repainted the oem blue, car looked mint from afar... as I got closer I could see little signs of repairs made but at least it was fixed and not rotting away. He was telling me stories about "kids", since he had to be about 70-80, pulling up to him, cutting him off and offering him up to 5 grand. He even went and had the steelies repainted silver. Car was as oem and original as it could get.. and the guy loved it! I must have spent over an hour talking to this guy about his crx and comparing it to the crz's mpg and trying to explain to him that people put bigger motors in them and all sorts of good old EF goodness. By the end of talking with him and telling him about some of my projects he was taking my number and asking if I could do a radiator for him and fix some other things. When he comes by for work, I assume he will be, Ill be sure to snap some pics.. Its nothing crazy, Its no Front Cover Car.. just a cool old man. Sorry for my ranting about my experience with a guy at least 3-4 decades older than me, just awesome how he shares the same love for EF's as we all do...

i have been having thoughts of RWD lately...and selling the hatch.
you posting this solidifies me NOT selling it...probably ever. HOW COULD I SELL THE NIGHT RIPPER? haha
i've met a couple of those old-dude EF nuts. cool dudes.
Side note: putting a radiator in his car for him Friday. Just oem stuff, nothing crazy. Ill snap some pics. Powder Blue, Nick's favorite color!
New to the ef game just picked up a 91 dx hatch four speed for 200 buck's.Run's but smoke's under load cam is scored and the head was milled down to much.Getting a d16a6 with tranny ecu y8 manifold header and si harness for 500 buck's.Going to build it over the winter.
Almost every time I pump gas in the CRX I have someone come up to me and talk about how they had one when they were young and how much they loved it. LOL, I love those days. One day I was driving to work and this lady pulls up next to me and told me how awesome my car was and she had one like it. Made my day!
I had the opposite moment. I work at Wal-Mart and we have a car night each month (small town, lots of muscle cars). I park my car where they have the show every day, so I walked out to check it out. I was admiring my own car and the Viper next to it (we matched blues, it was awesome). Some old dude walked up to the car, looked at it, said disgusting and walked away. lol
