Yeah I can't wait. Full photo shoot when its all together with my buddy Ian's PY ITR. It's kinda weird though....anyone seen the movie "Twins" with Danny Devito and Arnold Schwarzenegger? It's going to be like that. Our cars are both yellow and will have white TE37's.

Mine being Devito (short and ugly) and his being Arnold.

i took my hatch to Gingerman raceway on thursday.

i ran it hard. never pushed it that hard before.

it was open sessions, so i could stay out as long as i wanted....i did about an hour (not straight, broken up), and then noticed it seemed to be pushing coolant. bummer.

and the turbo is almost dead, its smoking. haha. i'm thinking i'm going to do my next event NA. should be interesting, havent done that in about 8 years. this car has been breathing pressure for almost a decade!

You want to be NA...and I want to be BOOSTED!

Hopefully you will be boosted for the ITR EXPO event.

I just need to get my **** together and just do it. It's just the little things that keep hanging me up. :/

NA- whats the condition of that heater core? Im assuming crx and civic use the same core.

I have no heat in my beater, new blower and fresh dash controls and cables from my 91, new valve and hoses from the firewall to the motor, just no heat.. thinking it may be the heater core its self, but no leaks... usually I would just remove it but I may need it in the beater to defrost. Any diag tips appreciated.

I'd say check the plastic valve in the engine bay but it sounds like you did it already.

yeah, that little plastic valve in the middle of the hose from the core to the motor itself, its a fresh one.. only other thing I can think is that the cables on the climate control itself are not pulling a flap or whatever inside the heater core to convert over to hot air..
I am starting to believe in the curse of the Y49 crx's...

tai_mishuu911 is hooking me up with some hood hinges he scored from the yard this weekend, just spreading the good word, EF guys are the best!

I'm a believer. I had an '89 Si.

I'll have to get in the attic and see if I kept the core. I don't recall.

I was at the DMV the other day getting tags and I changed the color to black (the color it is now) and peeled the Y49 out of the door jam during the respray, theres no visible yellow anymore... the curse still appears.

The question is; did you sand all th yellow off BEFORE painting it black? If not, you might as well start all over! :p

I have a full race bar, mounting it in my crx was a PITA mainly because it sits so close to the lower part of the front support. Even with cutting out my stock rad mounts I had to cut and re-weld that lower support to have clearance for the bar and radiator. It also seemed a little short.. I went to the store and got some longer stainless bolts and it sucked in fine without looking stretched.
Here's a shot of what I had to cut out..

I dont mind it so much because its better than it hanging too low or too far into the bay where I would be worried of some clearance issues with either bottoming out or header hitting it. Good luck with yours, hope that helped.

Nick- Good luck, back in my dealer days I used to see a lot of those. Great car, I dont remember any major issue or recalls on them. Buying it certified used is a good idea b/c then you will get a warranty and everything on the car should be like new, brakes, tires, fluids, etc.. so no added expenses for a while. Definitely go with a good warranty like Honda Care they will probably offer you a good deal on an extended that they can work right into your financing (thats if you plan to keep it for a while) Some of the Electrical and that main battery can get expensive if it fails down the road. I'm gonna guess its the blue one....

if an EF has been wrecked in the front end, its not perfect, and mounting a crossmember will be a PAIN.

seen it every time i mount one on a formerly wrecked car.
