i could toss the turbo junk on again, try and hit a big number, run 10s, and then dial it back and road race it all year again.

well, one of my more-fresh engines will go in next year.

i've lost the itch to work on cars. its weird. i think i'll take "gutty" to the dragstrip within the next few weeks...maybe that'll do it.

You know my opinion...

Damn i talk about getting engaged and this thread blows up, and not just useless banter, you guys are all good dudes and I feel lucky to "know" you guys.

I had another red ef that was my first car and i said i would never get rid of it, but i came to my senses and realized the shell was not worth it. the hatch i have now is pretty descent and now im sure i will be buried in that car, and my gf already knows it.

I go through phases. For pretty much the whole month of September I didn't want anything to do with working on the EF. Now I'm in the phase where I want to be out there all the time wrenching on it.
thanks dude. Both my girls were born deaf, Natalie is 2 1/2 and Ella is 6 months. Natalie had her first choclear implant at 2 and she was recently turned on. She is scheduled for her second ear and Ella is scheduled for her first soon. There is alot of contraversy about the surgeries but its amazing to see them hear. I work 6 days aweek and since the bionics require alot of therapy to adapt the kids go to school, and have 3 separate therapists also. Thank GOD most of this is state funded or paid for by medicaid. But my wife shes the SUPERWOMAN, i could never do her job. I admit that.

on the car front....man i get so fed up....my car was done...pretty much and my dad and I pretty much fried it. and its sat for 2 years, while I built other peoples cars, I almost parted it out twice. Just so frustrating. I talk with my wife about it all the time and she says I should just finish it. I feel like I could be spending my time and $ in more creative ways. This winter I guess I will make the final descision. this is how it sat last.

It is pretty amazing what technology has opened the doors to in the past 20 years. My boss is very very good friends with a lady who runs an organization that provides financial aid and assistance for people to children with hearing disabilities. The organization is called Hearts for Hearing if you want to check it out.

http://www.heartsforhearing.org/

PM me if you have any questions and I will forward them on.

You're burned out. I've been there. After the 20 hour Import Alliance round trip last year I didn't want to even see my car for months.

Oh its cool, my kids have a syndrome in which the deafness is the only symptom that they reflect. Its hereditary and was only the result of my wife and my genes. there are alot of other syndromes that include deafness but also include other disabilities. we just got lucky i guess.

trust me they are just as much a handfull. lol

dont lie, youll find something else you need

My younger brother is developmentally disabled so at some point when my parents age it will be my turn to take over caring for him. So in a way I already feel like I have a child, I am so lucky that my wife is all for it.

And strangely enough, she is interested in going to school to be able to work with deaf kids.

The EF to me is the only Honda with "soul"... and I plan to own my crx for life....Thats if I ever finish building it!

Kids is kids, is kids. They've never known life with hearing so they really don't even know what it is. Still doesn't negate the fact that they are kids like everyone else's. If anything, it only makes it mildly harder on you guys as parents to communicate with them effectively. Being a parent, regardless of your child's health situation, is the hardest job on the planet.

I agree. It should be in the Fit price range, not loaded Accord range.
