Thanks Nick! Yeah, well.. 15.8 with a cooler in the trunk! I was cool with it... didnt expect much out of it, it was running pretty good that day.. could have caught second a little better and always room for improvement on R/T. Might put the ys1 in and see what it does.

Does anyone know where to look on the Honda diagrams to find the fan switch sensor bolted in the back of the block? The one on my D15B appears to be broken and I want to replace it before the motor goes in.

the y49 curse got smokinsax too.

that car overheated ALL the way from PHX to chicago...then we spent about 8 hours taking it apart, trying to find the weird problem.

i still think he had an oddly blown headgasket (it did some of the HG symptom things, but oddly)

he made it back though, and make it through a 2 day track event in the middle!

that was a long weekend.

I have the plug for that brand new if you need to solder a new one on. I cut it off the harness I bought last year and stuck it in a box in case anyone needed it

The one on the DPFI Block was broken, we had the fan hard wired with the stock motor. I might have one off my other block at the house that will work.

I'll pull it out later and let you know. The end of it looks to be broken off. Like Chris said, my DPFI one was bad, too.

Cool, let me try swapping the sensor out first.

The part numbers between DPFI and VTEC were different, but they may still be interchangable.

I'm pretty sure it does if you have the older style LCA's in the rear. Itr has the lower shock mount design similar to the fronts. I can't remember what year ef had that style lca.

NA- it's not a knock sensor is it? There might be a one prong sensor around the distributor area and a sensor on the thermostat for the fan. The single prong just send temp readings to the ecu/gauge. If u have both of these, then the sensor on the back with two prongs is likely a knock sensor. I don't know anything about the d15b vtec motors, so I cant tell u exactly. I think my plug would still fit it though if u need it. Pics would really help...

The new daily. What can I say, I'm a sucker for sedans.

It needs a good wash/wax and a headlight restoration, but it's mega comfortable. This is good news for the EF because I can continue to take my time putting it together.

PMd. Thanks a ton. Let me know if I have something random you need.

Do you guys have a preference for intake and exhaust gaskets? I thought while I was at it I might as well replace them. OTC Autozone?
