The Official EF Discussion Thread
it would seem to me that it would be less work to just paint the carbon fiber hood rather than strip, block, body filler, block, prime, block, prime again, water sand, seal and paint the metal hood.
although, you are money ahead at this point.

C/F hoods don't fit like oem metal. I am a fitment freak. That's why I'm swapping my motor and tucking the bay without removing any body panels whatsoever. Actually not pulling the dash either for the medal swap. They've never been removed and they would never fit the same if they got pulled. It makes it harder, yes, I acknowledge that.
I guess I did remove the hood, but that's easy to align.

I agree. I must have gotten lucky though with both of my cf sir hoods (1 vis and 1 fiber images) because I managed to get them to fit just as good as an OE part. It also also cost me a lot of $$ to have a metal sir hood repaired and painted..so much that it was more than the cost of a cf hood and the additional cost to paint it. I guess I just wanted a metal hood, lol. The real turn off is the weight of the metal versus the cf. Significant difference!
Oh, and I saw an old guy driving this today. I want some Enkei 92s.

Hey, what EFs didn't have a/c? I need to order a couple block-off grommets and the a/c delete duct.

Stefan- I'm headed to T-Hill Tuesday...don't know why I forgot to tell you about it! My bad!
Edit: Damnit...I left my track pads in to go shake down the car a bit. I drove 10 miles and this is what those pads do to my white wheels. haha.
Hey guys. None of y'all may know me, but I decided to give myself an early entrance here. I was looking on criagslist and four a bone stock, 170,xxx mile, frost blue 89 hatch. Only thing that's wrong, needs a new dizzy. Everything else that needs to get replaced, has been done.
Forgot the best part, $700

lol i know this feeling all to well, my white NRs are always gunmetal after about 10 miles as well lol, and of course the overwhelming squeeking is always great too. sometimes makes me wonder what other people are thinking when im stopping next to them at a red light
I'm actually going to get to drive it at laguna tomorrow.
I really want to get in another trackday before the summer ends but idk if I will have time.
tou kinda inspired it. it should see boost next tax time.
the lower ring. the solid one
Here is the temporary daily. For the record, I believe in the Y-49 curse. The lady that owns this car was in a parking garage behind a guy in a huge truck. The guy decided he wanted to reverse and go back for a parking spot so he accelerated in reverse and smashed up the front end.

Driving it brings back some memories. In 2004-2005 I had an '89 Y-49 Si that had been repainted to white, but the curse remained.
