Guys, I need to know what I should do with the manual steering rack before I put it on the sedan. Is there a rebuild kit or something I need? This bad boy has a quarter of a million miles on it.
That's not a rebuild kit, that is a quick ratio rack which if used for parallel parking is a real PITA. With my 24mm front sway, steering response is QUICK at speed, I'd hate to know how my ish would feel with the quaife unit.
Matt, You will want to disassemble the rack, clean it WELL and remove all the old grease. Based on this pic....

You want to replace 10,12,8,38,28,29,14,15,20,25,27,11,23,&24.
You also want to inspect all the other parts of the rack and pinion, as well as 2,3,4,5 and replace if necessary. Once you have everything, get yourself some good grease, grease it up well, and put it back together according to specs of which rack you have.
Edit- don't complain, I've put more than $5k in mine, and I still have more stuff I plan to replace and do.

btw.....who in their right mind removes a stock sway bar?
I was attempting to install my coil-overs (turns out I need EG forks) and i noticed my sway bars were removed front and rear (i should have rear right? I've got an Si)

how much would you charge? this is the finished product

could look a lot better, even the wife made a sad face looking at it lol. right side looks pretty bad, but working with epoxy is rather messy and i sanded too much with the Dremel. I'll make the second one look better. but this is a good first try IMO

I do, car is really sensitive at highway speeds, but canyon runs, the car feels great, and responsive through the switchbacks.
Yea adding up mods is never a good idea...with the amount I've spent on modding beater Japanese cars I could have a nice Porsche or something lol
