I just made a 2" aluminum "air dam" with $35 from home depot. I wanna eventually re-do another one and rivet it over a stock lip but a 88-89 oem lip is hard to find.

6' strip of 2" aluminum.
4' strip of 1/2" aluminum for the brackets
Used 12mm bolt and nut combo. Cause I didn't have the correct bolts for the stock lip.
And obviously rivets.

I wanna paint it black, but I know its hard to paint aluminum, so I'll wait on that. I'll get a better pic tomorrow if I remember.

NOTE: I would have bought the RRG lip, I'm not trying to steal they're idea. But they are, as far as I can tell, out of business.

I was ready to take that RRG price hit, but that was a while ago when the site went down.

Ill try to take some tomorrow of how its mounted. Its very simple and as far as I can tell super sturdy. Its just bolted through the oem lip locations with body washers to spread some of the weight. Than a strap at the ends to pull it back, cause the aluminum was pushing the corners out.

The front bent easily, the rivets could hold the lil' bit of bend it has. I tried to bend it for the sides as much as possible off the car so the rivets weren't holding %100 of the tension. The only "difficult" bends were around the backside cause hammer marks show up real easily.

Ill take pics for both of you guys tomorrow so this all makes more sense.

looks really good pandarex! even better than the RRG, with the RRG you need to have an OEM lip too. i'd say your $35 was totally worth the price and labor. now sell em to other people and start a website!

I haven't had problems. I was saying the old Skunk2 design with the bolt heads on the top had problems. They are on the bottom now, no clearance problems at all.

There is a difference between racks I believe. I have been looking into the Quaife Quick ratio rack and I know they are both manual racks but the Si wont work with the Quaife..and a DX or HF will. not sure if that varies by year or just model. I just know I need a non- Si rack to use the Quaife set-up.
