Anyone have any good costumes tonight? I'm gettin' ready to head out. Gonna be Quagmire this year (blow-up doll and everything). I was going to be a "racecar driver," but decided against it after the thought of spilt beer on my Alpinestars suit. No thank you.

You apparently don't understand the amount of engineering and luxury in these things. It's ridiculous. This is my 14th Honda and I'm blown away by the RDX. Besides, I bought a mint one with 26k miles on it and saved almost 12 grand off the price of a new one.

I couple of my own pics...

It's really hard to get in my EF sedan for the trip to work now. It needs an alignment pretty bad and it needs a wash. That might help.

Ive driven one of those RDX's when they first came out while still working for Honda. Really liked it.. felt more like a car than an SUV. Im not sure if they have had any issues with them, but seems like you got a solid deal.

Hows the after market support for them? any plans to upgrade anything? I have a problem leaving a car 100% stock

I'm just now starting to research aftermarket support. The Hondata reflash can add 33lbft of tq at 3300rpm and 26hp at 5500rpm, as well as increase MPGs. That sounds promising and it's certainly gotta be the best bang of the buck out there. I would like to change/add a few things. The front spoiler is what I am most interested aesthetically. I might look into different wheels before too long when I need new tires.

IIRC you run the ATI harmonic balancer. was wondering what part number you went with, I seem to keep finding different p/n's. aluminum or steel made. just seeing what others are running. I wont be close to the hp numbers you put up though!

i got the street unit. I had a convo with earl laskey (rip) and he was like the race units are great for NA drag car, but at night you will have problems with the headlights dimming and charging the battery. So i went with the stock replacement. Sure it has an a/c and ps hub, but the ac unbolts and the little extra mass is worth the insurance. Esp in a boosted application. Lets be honest i can barely get traction @ 14psi, so the little power it cost is pretty much negligible.

Good info.. thanks a lot man, i was planning on using the race one due to not running ac or p/s but the alternator charging issues concerned me. thanks for clearing that up. and from a very reliable/ trustworthy source. Are these units mainly for boosted set-ups?.. im yet to see a NA motor using one. or any motor setup under 300hp for that matter.

If you arent balanced its prob a good idea. I just installed my pistons and rods and then got this. Do you need it... No idea but do i sleep better at night, and feel more confident @ 10k rpms yes. I saw a motor the other day at a local shop when i was getting my tires on my truck. NA lsv with an ati so i guess you could use one. I would check the all motor forums for a def answer.

Please help, Im a little off topic. I have a 98 civic coupe, it was the 1.6 non vtech auto. I just bought a B16a2 with harness and ecu and auto tranny. I had the car and didn't want to attempt to put in a clutch. He gave me the rear mount. It looks as if my stock mount on the cam gear side will work. The one on the tranny won't fit on the tranny. Is this the one I need? Do I need some sort of adapter. It looks as if I need about an inch spacer so the mount would sit right. I also need axles, does anyone know which would fit, my stock ones wont. Also do I have to change the hubs. I really appreciate any help. I'm stuck and in a rush. I've replaced a few motors but never a swap. I'm a virgin. Please help and I apologize for bein off topic,I'm a new member and can't post my own. Thanx Brian

yeah, not to be a dick but hope you figure out how to change that clutch on that auto tranny.

only EK advice i can offer you is that most b16 stuff should work from an 99-00' si. Dont hold me to that tho... really look around a little on here, once you find the ek threads im sure all your answers will pop up.

NOW BACK TO THE EF'S!

I see this is your first post. You really should have taken a closer look at the forums before posting. This is for 88-91 civic/hatch/crx. But as to your delima, the tranny mounts are different between manual and auto. this is with any honda. If I'm not mistaken, the tranny mount braket has to be modified in order to get a manual tranny in there. do some research and you should quickly find your answers. I'm pretty sure all you need is the 99si axles and intermediate shaft if your motor didn't already have it. Again, do some reasearch before you take any of our words on anything.

Hotsauce I figured you might get a kick out of this email reply from suja1 about their bracket not fitting correctly since you accually talked to them over the phone. Apparently im the first to bring this to their attention?

Hey Chris,
Sorry you ran into the problem you did with our bracket. You're the first to have an issue like this and I guess we weren't getting anyone else with the same issue notifying us. It looks like this problem occurs on cars with tilt steering for left-hand drivers. We've since modified our bracket with the cutout and we certainly appreciate your heads-up on this issue. Sometimes coming out with a new product can be frustrating for everyone when you have limited resources at you disposal(ie every model EF and CRX), but a great idea that you want to offer. So we can certainly appreciate your frustration on this issue and we apologize for the inconviences it's caused.
Regards,
Jeremy

HAHAA... Must be a generic letter b/c they said they never herd of it before with me either. I was hoping at least at the end of your email it said "we have refunded you 100$ for our R&D"
I gave up trying to talk to them or help them. They dont even have a CRX to fit the bracket into... just a set of pedals. they told me they test fit everything to bolt up to the pedals.. i think i could get anything to bolt up to the pedals... its getting it to fit under the dash properly that we were paying for....and in my mind thats R&D along with testing the product with normal use.

hey, I may be coming out with a bracket of my own one day! Ill go halfs on profits with you teal!

it really doesnt seem like what you had to grind away was that big of a deal......how long did it take?

did they refund any money? if they refunded a few bucks, good, if not , maybe a partial refund is in order.

For me its no big deal..(but what about the guy doing this on his day off from work in his moms driveway w/out access to the proper tools) I have a full garage, compressor, every tool i could need, and a couple years of experience. took me maybe a hour total of grinding it down, testing, remove, grind down... continued to make sure I had it right without cutting to much. I wasnt going to go ahead and hack it up without the companys okay just in case it still didnt fit, I didnt want them saying they wouldnt take it back. Really just turned into a headache, when I should have just fabbed up the bracket myself.. most expensive part of the bracket is getting the CNC or laser cuts done to fit the MC in.

Partial refund would have been nice sence in reality i paid 160$ for 2 1/4 pieces of steel with 2 holes cut in it and welded together at the wrong angles. My main gripe is there claim that they have taken time to R&D the product, when clearly they have not.

Not trying to ruffle any feathers, hope the improve the product and get it right.

Need some info on a b16a.. figure while I have the motor out and belt and pump off I might as well change the head gasket just for security, ive been using 94 del sol vtec parts, can anyone tell me for sure that it will work? or what will? just dont want to run into the same problem that I did with the belt.

I assume the ARP b16 head bolt kits are all the same so im not worried about that. Just want to get this motor back together and into the car so I can get back to the other rex.

Yea definatly no mention of a refund. And grinding it wasnt that big a deal to me either since I also have access to everything that was needed. But they didnt mention in the tools needed section of their instruction page that I needed a bench grinder.
