do to the fact the description and picture do not match i would not put my money into it. id inquire about the a/r. if the seller isnt competent enough to answer that, then dont bother.
if you want boost for cheap, go yank an IHI off a older dodge turbo k car or an AIR off an older saab turbo and rebuild it. at the same yard, pull a set of dsm 450 injectors
then get a d-series hf/cx manifold and modify it to fit your turbo flange.
get a intercooler off a mitsu delivery truck
have a machine shop make a oil supply line, make your own return, and have them tap you pan.
thats a round about recipe for a 400 dollar turbo kit thats good for 200whp on a D.

mr. deftones- you seem to be very knowledgeable with engines. let me ask for your opinion. I have a gsr bottom end that i plan to mate with a b16 head. i will be using jdm itr pistons. probably port and polish. do you think i would need a new valve train to run bigger cams, with my goal of 200+ whp? i will be using a header, but i dont know which one. thoughts?

are you talking about the inlet flange or the dp side?
oh yeah, you can also add a DSM blow off valve, and cold ain intake will take car of half of your intercooler piping...then custom fab the other (small) portion of the charge pipes...

well i got a t3 greddy manifold and i've been throwing it around thinking about going turbo. I saw this turbo and was just thinking about going turbo again. I already have two turbos but one is a starion turbo I got for free and the other is a gt20 turbo I got for free. The gt20 is brand new but it is only good for around 200-225hp. I am reaching for 300. I am not going to build a home made turbo on my car. I would rather do it right. I just saw the turbo for cheap and thought I could save a little money. I've built a couple home made turbo's on my buddies cars and got about 220 hp on d series, But I like the clean look.

I wouldnt buy any turbo from a guy calling it a "supercharger"
Get a saab or t bird t3, they work great on d series. If u want something a little bigger get the bog-warner gm truck turbos, they are pretty much a t3/t4 60 trim for 100-200 buck used and make great power and have a decent spool charateristic

what you need to do is take your head, and the 16 stock valves to the machine shop with new valve guide seals from honda. they are a couple bucks a piece.
have them hot-tank and resurface the head and give you a valve job. when they lap the valves in, this will tell them whether or not your valves are straight. in a lot of cases, an older head will have 3-4 bent valves just from wear and tear. not bent badly, just enough that they wont "lap in" with the seats.
if all 16 line up your stock valves are more than fine. you will need upgraded springs and retainers. i recommend any company that uses snap fit retainers with their springs. just look around for sales and stay away from used stuff.
if you really want new valves i would reccomend buddy club flat faced. id love to reccommend omnipower but apparently his last batch wont slide thru a stock valve guide. bad flaw. hate to see you end up with 16 of those.

as far as headers, if youre looking for 200hp on an 81x87.2 motor, youre going to need something nice. i would say rage, but in an EF chassis they hang very low. so go with smsp, rmf spaghetti, or possibly the highend motorsports header. those range from 500-800.
mkae sure you get all the bearings pointing in the right direction, use k20 mains if you want. i am. also make sure you clock your rings in a sensible manner. you can pm me if you have any questions.

im talking about the dp side. but yea, grabbing a couple cold ait intakes and some silicone couplers with decent band clamps would be enough.
the junkyard up here where im at has about 30-40 of the turbos we are talking about. i trip on them all the time. over half of them have little or no shaft play. just lemme know.

hey, tonight i am going to have the iceman owner make a "legal" thread about the new front crossmember, and on saturday i am going to bolt one to the front of my car with no motor in it so you can see it front and rear, top and bottom. ive been getting a lot of pms since the thread got taint slapped by george of the jungle.

Pic request: I'd like to see an SiR front-ended hatch, with the optional square yellow foglights and a Chargespeed/J's style lip, preferably a dark colored car.

Hey dude, is it just me or are those"iceman" units identical to the Jimfab ones that were taken off the market? I have been running the Jimfab unit for about 2 years now with pretty much no issues at all. Only thing i fukin hate is that i cant jack the car up from the front middle spot anymore.
