The Official EF Discussion Thread
okay, you guys probably gonna see this message posting around, so please dont sue me, it was posted merely so you understand what to do to prevent these ******** from breaking in your cars.
last saturday my car was broken into. my hood latch wasnt functioning after that, so today i had the time to inspect the problem. first thing first, removed the bumper to open the hood:

next, the Sherlock Homles in me walked around and observed the crime scene. after a few minutes upon inspection, here's how i think the thieves got into my car:
First step is to unlatched the hood with a 'hook' tool through the opening of bumper radiator cooling vents (the vents is uncut btw).

unlocking the hood if not careful enough will activate the alarm horn, so they must quickly popped the hood, with two guys standing on each side, one removed the battery neg. terminal, one cutting the alarm horn wires (also pocket'd the alarm fuse + slot to prevent me from reinstall the alarm horn):

after that, making sure no1 is alarmed by the sound, one guy will try to unlock the passenger side door, got inside the car and unlocked the driver door letting the other guy in.

then it's time to remove the cheap $175 alpine mp3 deck:

emptied the coin tray:

popped the trunk just to see a clean and emptied trunk. they must be very disappointed.
i do have a garage but it's already home of another CRX. this car is my gas-saving-beater, so it always been parked outside. These ******** must've been watching my car for quite sometimes now, but didnt strike because i always parked it on the left side of my house which i can see from my living room and bedroom. last week i moved it to the other side, and within two days, they striked.
anyways, now you have seen detailed instruction of possibly two professional thieves, so the rest is up to you to decide, whether to prevent or ignore. In my opinion, the first important step we should look into is how to prevent them from popping up the hood.

Atleast they didn't brake your ignition dude.
One thing I hate it how the brake the ignition.
My car is virtually unstealable but they won't find that out until they get into the car and try to "screw" start it but by then its already to late because they did damage.
chicken wire near the hood prop is a good way to prevent them from getting the hodd open.

That sucks, its kinda ironic how they can disable your alarm, get in your bay and car but cant take out the entire deck. What a bunch of tards
At least you still have your crx

project.one - sorry to hear your car was broken into. at least they didnt steal it. the alarm seems to be valuable, but could be improved.
1. I would add a second alarm siren, inside the car. more noise the better.
2. Relocate the alarm under the hood to down behind the intake manifold, so I can't be easily reached. The main alarm system should be up under the dash, behind the radio so you cant get to it. Just a siren should be hidden in the engine bay.
3. Make some type of plate/cover to protect the hood latch from future strikes.
4. Mount a switch so if the hood or trunk is opened, the alarm goes off
This coming from someone without an alarm

Not knowing how well maintained your car is, for starters I'd have to say change all your fluids including the brake fluid. There should be a lot more to do/check so dont stop there.
