Right now I have a viper alarm with door lock solenoids, and an alram in the engine bay. I don't know anythig else about it, except that the brain is located in the dash below the cluster.
The plan:
-Upgrade to a 2 way paging alarm(viper most likely)
-Run a kill relay with the alarm
-Relocate the siren
-Add a tilt sensor
-Maybe a glass break sensor as well
-Install a backup battery
-Possibly a second siren in the cockpit
-Install the alarm brain in a stealth location
Do you guys have any suggestions, or ideas on how I could improve this setup?
I really want to have her on full lock down when I go to college, even though there is not alot of crime in the area.
Thanks.
-Chris</TD></TR></TABLE>bad idea typing that out. all a thief needs to know is that he needs a philips screwdriver to remove teh cluster and cover and a wire cutter and he is free to steal your car in silence.
never announce your brain box location.
move it somewhere better/less accessable. if you don't have to pull the dash to get to it it is nowhere near well hidden. loom everything like it is factory wiring so people can't tell if what they are trying to cut is dash/engine harness.

I painted it! When I got that tranny case, it was so nasty I had to put a wire wheel in a drill to clean it up. I did it in the yard because the sludge was going everywhere. I originally wanted to leave it bare metal, because the block looked so nice after I had it cleaned up and reassembled. I'm normally not into painted engines, but it was the only way to make it look clean. The wire wheel gave the tranny case an ugly appearance because of the swirl marks.
Is anyone running an ITR brake master/booster in their ef? I was told it would hit the manifold or something. I need to replace my master, and though I might as well upgrade while I'm at it. Also, EM1 brakes. I can get my hands on a set of calipers/brackets. Will they bolt up to my knuckle and I can just buy em1 discs?
Does anyone have tips for getting rid of an oil leak from teh cam seals on teh timing belt side? These things are killing me. brand new as with the rest of teh seals/parts on the motor when I built it. Leaked. Replaced with another set of new ones. leaked. Never put hondabond on them or anything. I will try that next. I'm just hoping its not leaking in the middle of the seals. but It's a bad leak.
I'm gonna put some 15w50 in it on the next oil change to slow the leak down a bit.

Thanks, but I'm not real worried about it yet. no one here knows where I live or where(if) I work( or go to school) and it is garaged at night.
I am gonna loom the wires up and stuff for sure.
What all sensors should I be using?

- I thought it was the same size as the DA, only the diameter was larger. I could be wrong.
- You have to take off the cam gears to get to those seals. Only way to fix it. Might as well spend a day replacing seals, and maybe even do the t-belt and water pump while you're at it.
You know why it's taken me so long to get my car done? I'll tell you. As I'm staring at my engine last night, amazed that I have it this close to being done. I'm thinking to myself "the b16 was cool, this b18 should be better. Maybe a b20 would be even better...."

b16crxt: install teh seal with the cam in place. pull the tbelt and the cam gears and pop them in place with a socket. make sure to put a little lube (ie vaseline) on the inside and outside of the seal so it slides in place and does not hang up on anything when installing. also-i'm sure you know this but i have caught a few people doing it-never remove the spring on the inside of the seal.
andy: just put the damn thing in the car. you ahve had that thing apart for well over a year now. if you want you can buy my car
shameless plug (please bump vouch if any of you guys have bought from me)

ahh thanks. So, should I use the socket to push the seal in all teh way or just a certain amount? I've always installed them with the cams out. timing belt and water pump are brand new candy. this is my fresh motor; everything that is replaceable(literally) is new on it. lol
so what about that brake master/booster? will they fit without problems?

typical northern honda. rear wheel arches. other than that it is probably the most solid and seamless honda i have owned/assembled.
everything was done properly by me (dealer master tech). so all of the a/c, cruise control, abs, power steering is still in place all while having a gsr that fits, functions, appears 100% stock. with a cat (testpipe onthe car) will pass talipipe emissions. all of the evap is intact etc. the car will be sold with a cat for the purpose of emissions.

push it til it is even witht he edge of the head.
itr booster and cylinder will fit fine. DA is cheaper and fits slightly better.

ahhh. cool. So any DA booster and master is the same size as the ITR? should be 1" for the master. And does anyone know about the em1 calipers? I really dont want to disassemble my brakes to find out.
Okay. Thanks. Looks like I'll just do the ITR booster/master setup. the em1 caliper thing is only because I have a friend who said I can have them if they fit. I need new rotors anyway, so it'd be a good upgrade I think.
who posted that brake size link a while back? Could you post it again?

I'm pretty sure there aren't any hard core car thieves around here, thank God. But I still don't wanna let my gaurd down!

A couple of you asked what I painted my motor/tranny with. It was duplicolor high temp. engine paint. I think it was just the standard aluminum color. The block was cleaned by the machine shop. I cleaned the head and tranny. Painted them all seperatly. I wiped everything down with rubbing alcohol before I painted, to removed oil/grease. So far the paint seems to be ok. I've heard it sticks better once it gets warm. We'll see.
