The Official EF Discussion Thread
I think I'm painting my ef hatch a sand/kahki/beige color. Anyone else done/seen this? I can't remember seeing it off the top of my head, I know there's a guy with a EK the color I want, he's on silver cp-rs in the one^group. If anyone knows of a kahki color EF hatch post it up. I'm doing my engine bay tomorrow I'll post pics afterwords.
^^^^that hatch looks so clean!!!! here is an engine bay shot that kills it
. If you were to discribe this color to me I probably would think it would be nasty but damn it looks clean, here's some pics
.

this was posted a few pages back but its still money

If he went with ITB's
even cleaner.

paint it chocolate or rootbeer. i have never seen that on an EF. see, rootbeer is just like chocolate, but with a skoach of flake in it to simulate carbonation. that with an FPP valve cover would look **** with the right wheels.
Hey guys, I got a quick question. My water pump is leaking and my car keeps overheating. I have to fill it up with anti-freeze every couple of days. Now I could go ahead and replace the waterpump and timing belt and stuff but its a huge pain in the ***. I can, however, pick up a d15z1 longblock (VX) for cheap ($100). Keeping in mind that I haven't been working and am a hair away from full blown poverty, you think I can just pick up the longblock and use all my SOHC parts on it? (DPFI manifold, DX ECU). Will this work? I rather have this motor but will my parts work?
TIA and happy turkey day.

I honestly think it would be alot easier to just change the water pump and timing belt then to do a motor swap and change over components. It should only take like 45 minutes to do the timing belt and water pump. But if you want to do it the hard way do the motor swap.

you eman core support? hmmmm..... i just did one. it is a BITCH.
1. find an unwrecked crx.
2. get a high quality 5/8'' drill bit.
3. drill the little pinch/spot welds out. there are about 16 on each side up front. they are kind of hard to see, clean the area if you need to with a rag first.
4. if it doesnt just fall off onto your lap, you are not done drilling.
tips- you have to drill it until it FALLS off. if you do any prying at all, it will distort the core support on the good car, and if you pry the old one off it will distort the straight part on your yellow car.
there are 6 bolts up front that you can use to bolt the new core support on with. bolt it on, then tow it to have it tack welded in about 8-10 places on each side.
first, i suggest you check your car out to make sure it is structurally intact.. mine took a 15mph run into a 2005 carolla and it bent the entire chassis

if it is possible, cut it the front of the frame rails off the old car with the core support attached. that will make it easier to see where you need to drill.
dont let anyone tell you it is not worth doing. saving your crx is always worth it when it comes to labor.

The bad news today is I don't know if I can fix it or not. I noticed that the drivers side tire is pushed back.My supercharger and idler pulley are hitting the side of the shock tower now also. I will try to take some picture to see what everyone thinks.
