The Official EF Discussion Thread
Well, I had some bare DA Knuckles laying around, so I decided to do that oem 11in brake upgrades for the CRX. So I pressed in new bearings, ball joints, and arp extended studs. Then got type r calipers with prelude vtec rotors. After the machining here the results

11.1in vs 14in

Also, laying in my hallway

Those parts are for the beater

it will take a while.... but EASY-OFF oven cleaner will take paint off of plastic and not melt it.

yes... it even works on very delicate plastics... model car builders swear by the stuff...

So where did you hear of this? What are the Pro's & Con's of this? Sounds like a nice upgrade.
Why Type-R calipars?

I did that just using the DA Knuckles rather than the EX ones.
Pros- Better stopping power and looks better (fills up a 15in wheel).
Cons- A lot heavier (so If your car is on a diet don't worry about), and the fact that you gotta mill the brackets down and redrill the rotors to 4x100 can be some trouble.
I used Type-R calipers because they are larger and their brackets are needed for the conversion. Acura Legend GS calipers can be used if you want even more stopping power (they are two piston calipers).

SEM bumper stripper. There are a few plastics it will eat though, like ABS, but for bumpers it works great. It wont remove an oem finish since the oem finish is baked on or something, but for any aftermarket paint including epoxy and urethane based paints it takes it right off.

Does that fit behind a 14" wheel? I've got DA brakes and 14" MR5's and there's not a lot of room.
Edit: Maybe you were just comparing them to 14" wheels. Please clarify for me. Thanks.

I was only comparing them to the MR5s. This setup barely clears 15". I can post up pics of how they look behind my current wheels later.

handles a little better isnt too bouncy. i mean, the stock fit bounces a little.
i drove it last night with 5 passengers, and the rear springs squeek.
the rear doesnt rub... the front does when hitting very tight corners at high speed.

i installed it last night... hell if i know why its squeeking. i'll check it this weekend during the day. maybe add some rubber between the coils or something.
handles much better which is surpising for springs. the tires help too, hehe.
if this car had more power, it would be a blast to drive.

i found some bumpers that i want.
but i think im putting more $$$$ into the crx before i really do anything more to the fit.
