nah thats the one for the EF9

The ones for the EF9 later model civic look a lil different

That lip pictured above is a 88-89 front lip

And Moe pretty much doesn't know what he is talking about.

If I had the materials to copy or replicate a product it sure as hell wouldn't by a J's Racing lip.
I'd most likely do my Mugen Cover and would probably only make 5 of them and keep the mold

Spoon have no marking or come with any stickers on the spokes originally.
If you ever see a set w/ them its because they were added.

There should be a product label that says Desmond on the inside of the rim though.

if those rims on the previous page are 16s they are spoons. you can tell by the lack of holes between the lug nuts and the anodized finish rather than powdercoating.

however, there is still a possibility they could be fake, but they are so close, no one could tell so... the only real way to EVER tell, is stck em on a scale. sw 388s are about the lightest rim you will ever pick up.

The lightest wheel??

Really??

so they weigh like 5lbs or something like that??

16" never had oval spaces between the lug holes anyway,
I thought I explained that to you a couple of hundred pages ago.

Wheels along with other items are items that get replaced a few times. It's funny how only the HOnda forums really get up in arms about replicas.

On any VW or Euro forums, you have guys that are spending wayyyy more than us for full turbo upgrades, chip upgrades, CO's and 18-19" rims - and quite a bunch of them readily use and admit to using replica parts. Especially if these are just "Appearance" items.

Guys are sporting the "Luff" BBS LM look alikes, reiger rep kits, etc - and it is no big deal. Especially when the parts are likely going to be changed out often, have to be worked on by a body shop, are limited production or no longer in production.

Yes you have quite a few that spend top dollar for items, that goes with any "Hobby" - but people generally recognize that appearance items are no big deal - just dont run replica brake kits, CO's, pistons made of playdoh, etc.

And don't say only the low level guys sport reps - quite a few people in the Euro scene are making magazine covers sporting all sorts of reps.

Build your car for yourself, not for anyone else and you will be much happier. In the great words of Humpty from Digital Underground - "Do whatcha like".

end rant.

I was being sarcastic chaddy

You said lack of holes between then lug holes...like they came with them.
Like you are saying other 16" sw388 replica rims came with oval holes between the lug holes when in actuality some did and some didn't.

so just from the oval holes alone it is not possible to tell if they are replica or not.

And as far as the lightest wheel out there...they are other squeeze forged wheels are there as light if not lighter then the sw388

how does "about the lightest wheel youll pick up" translate into "the lightest wheel ever made"

it translates into "pretty ******* light".

Whats meant by passive rear steering? Honda was the first to design rear wheel steering from memory, with Mazda come in with a close second (Honda prelude and Mazda mx6)

As stated before it stands for (in japan) Comfortable runabout vehicle. Ofcourse in America, using the word recreational would yield higher sales.

The Honda Legend was the first car in Japan to come standard with an Airbag.

The CRV's 4wd platform is also used for the EK sedan, and DC integra.

The EK wagon was called an Orthia

The orthia sedan was called an Integra SJ. Which also had a 4wd variant.

the EF platform has the second largest parts base and aftermarket support next to the Mustang.

The Honda Inspire used a 'mid mounted' 5 cylinder North west engine layout on a Legend chassis despite still being front wheel drive.

I didn't think it would fit unless you chopped it up. I could be wrong.

Stop arguing about real/fake wheels. At least make the arguement about boobies or something. For the record, the hot rod guys use tons of reproduction/knock off stuff.

Don't say that

It will only justify why people buy the parts they won't for their car with thier money

and for the record the J's lip above is not copied

People can spend their money as they wish. I paid less for my MR5's than a set of rotas cost. They are lighter and stronger, but to each his own.

I don't think chronicsinner was saying that lip is fake. He (and I) was wondering if a fake one could be made to fit the 90/91 usdm hatch bumper. Nice car wash. Does it include a wax job?

there are a set of mr5s for sale right now for 300 with good tires. i used to own them, sold them to the guy very cheap. his name is rudy. if anyone is interested. black center.

edit: civicandy, i know you dont live in so cal, but, the jdmshit guys have a place very close to them that makes their stuff and can make anything. if you bullshitted with them enough, maybe brought them in-n-out they could have some made, especially if you had like 5-10 made and bought them outright and sold them.

Are you talking about having them make a lip to fit the 90/91 hatch bumper? I would have to send them some coupons for In-n-Out, since I probably couldn't just bring them some

I'm planning on sticking with the Si lip. It was $5, and it fits.
