actually i found it off ebay for $99 shipped. probably along the same lines though.
core is 25 x 5 1/2 x 2 3/4.

 

your the only person ive ever heard of this happening to thats nuts. makes me think twice about an aem.

Werd. Happened to mine as well. Luckily when it broke off it didn't rip a hole in the intake tube though.

i had a AEM cold air with the brace, and after 4 years, i took it off... no hole, no break... thats not the short one though. just my exp.
