Additionally, some gnarly research may have gone in to the OEM crossmember, maybe it's designed in such a way that the flex you saw isn't an issue due to the way the forces are put on the piece when installed. Unless you're a high level automotive engineer I don't know how qualified you'd be to make any judgements regarding this stuff (no offense, I don't fall into that category either).

And yes, it does mount to where the stock tow hooks are bolted up, as well as 1/2 of the mounting locations the stock crossmember uses.

Aha! Matt, look at page 3 of the link AfroIntegra posted. Crossmember mounted to the SIDE of the frame rail. I knew it existed.

Quick question: I have two wiring couplers that I'm not sure what their purpose is. One definitely went to the powersteering line but I'm not sure which. The other I have no idea. One is a four pin square plug with two green wires and two black. The other is a two pin plug with one red and one black. Any ideas? Both couplers are pretty small and are in the wiring that would have been routed out the driver's side of the firewall.

I am sure that the two pin connector is the power steering one.

Ok, so now I have a four pin with two green and two black. What is/was even over on that side that is a candidate? Maybe purge solenoid for emissions? Can someone take a quick look at their car next time they're around it and check that guy out?

The EF bar they make seems to have been designed by an intern because they had to have been able to do a better job than they did. I still sorta can't get over the fact that it's as bad as it is.

I still just don't see being able to make a real judgement about a FR vs a custom/mod OEM piece like I mentioned w/o either some serious back to back testing or a very good understanding of the forces involved in the scenario (like I said, an automotive engineer). I'm not saying that the FR is a bad piece, just that I'm not convinced it's an amazing upgrade when compared to a modded stock piece. It's something I wish I was able to get more info about, but I just don't see that happening.

And as far as the bar mounting to the side of the frame rail... yes, that's what we've been saying. It bolts to where the stock tow hooks are mounted.

Yea! Got a Halloween party the night before so I'm going to be hurt, LoL!
Guy who has my turbo says it looks fine but that's just after a visual inspection. He will take it apart but it'll cost me.

I just capped off the oil feed line and started the car and it didn't smoke and I figured if it was valve seals it would be horrible open manifold.
I do have the valve cover on with the vents, they were relieving a lot of pressure so maybe that also helped?

Not sure what to do.
