ahh ok. i figured thats how you got to open it lol. did she make you wrap it back up again??

and wow, not to be rude, but you over paid for those bearings bro. i normally get acl std bearings for under 50 shipped. i wasn't really interested in them right now anyhow, just for future reference in case i'd need them is why i was asking lol

well i say gsr for the fact that they top out as fast (most cable b16s i hear of topping out at 108-110...that just sucks). plus, i've also heard where people get annoyed with the b16 trans on the highway cuz it tacks out so high at highway speeds. the gsr isn't quite as short, but is still a hell of a difference from the ls trans

wow thats a hell of a good price for it man. def. get some better suspension on it asap. even if it is just a set of after market springs. get rid of that cut ****.

and yeah, finding a gsr cable trans is the hard part. search craigslist and the classifieds on here as well. you can expect to spend around 3-400 for one depending on what you find and where

ooooh, you just std so i figured you meant the regular non-race bearings. guess you meant std size. but yeah, race bearings are def. more money. but, can still be had for cheaper. i priced them for my gsr the other day, i could get them for 66 shipped i think it was for the race bearings. i still might end up going that route, but it looks like its gonna be a few weeks til i order bearings and gaskets now... finally got a date to start a new job so i gotta have money to cover bills and living for the 2 weeks that i wont be bringing home any money til i get my first check

thats def. cheap, but be prepared to spend some money on getting it rebuilt. rebuilding a tranny is not cheap

I get my race bearings for like $60 JJ.
Andy, that was on pump gas, 12:5 cmp pistons, LS Block, B16 head, close to 13:1!
I have a Ys1 and hate it on the highway, 80mph i like somewhere in the range of 5500 - 5800 rpm. Although was a blast when I was all motor because the thing would take off!

you know the j1 has the same gearing as the gsr ys1 minus the first gear, right?
