It is not a name brand a custom one but it was not designed for a Holset so it puts the turbo way out from the block which made the downpipe a headache to build. It was designed for a T3/T4 type frame so any off the shelf mani should put the turbo way clear of the block for you.I have literally 6 inches maybe more between the block.

Ya i def will not run a restrictor again i might switch to a 3an line instead of 4 and hopefully that will cure the problem as it was starting to push a bit of oil past the seals with a -4 so that is why i installed a restrictor.Unforunetly that was to little oil and it cooked the bearing

I got the manifold today and left you some feed back. I'll be putting it on tonight. Ill let you guys know the comparsion between the 18cm and the 12cm soon.

I put the 12cm on my h1c. I wish i had good news for you guys. I put the car on the dyno and the h1c died on me. The turbo is smoking and gradually making less boost with each run. I did figure 2 things out though. A h1c made 40 less whp then my old sc6152e at the same boost level and the 12cm spooled 1000 rpm faster than the 18cm housing on my b16.

The best I did with the h1c on the dyno was 349 uncorrected hp on 24psi. My set up is a b16 with wiesco pistons (8.2:1), eagle rods, stock head w/ gsr cams. Neukin ramhorn, aebs im, hondata s300

i plan on going back to a garret.

If you wanted I would go with the HX40.

The .70 a/r T3 housings will be done in about three weeks.

I had an h1c, just sold my setup. I custom built my dp. Got the flange, and vband clamp from a diesal exhaust manufacture, the piping and bends i got from the same place, its for a 95 or so ford powerstroel, i just cut and twisted, then rewleded to get what i needed.

Do you have any pics of the mani? depends on how far back it puts the turbo.

Oh, and i just got my hx35, so where do i find the specific number to tell what cm turbine housing i have, i think i found one that says 16. but i dont know for sure. And also, what if anything do i need to run for an oil restrictor. Ive got a ebay t3/t4 with the function 7 oil restrictor and i know that wont work, so can the holset take 85+psi of oil pressure?

From the Holset Hx35 rebuild manual.

The minimum oil pressure when the engine is on load must be 210 kPa (30 lbf/in2). Maximum
permissible operating pressure is 500 kPa (72 lbf/in2) although 600 kPa (88 lbf/in2) is permitted during
cold start up. Under idling conditions pressure should not fall below 70 kPa (10 lbf/in2).

You could try it, but it wouldn't be a bad idea to install a restrictor.

Hey guys. I am new here and I would like to say hello. I have a nissan s13 with a highly modded SR20. I am running the Holset H1C and I love it to dealth. I am a holset fanatic. Is the any other holset turbo parts that i can combine to make a better turbo? My existing one is starting to deterierate around the exhaust housing in the center bearing and oiling housing. How much will a new h1c or a really good used one be? Is there anything I can do to make this turbo better? (ie. response or top end power)

An Hx35 would be a better turbo for you if you have to replace yours. If you want to keep a H1C, then you can get an upgraded compressor for it from HTT. They also have upgrades for the Hx35 series.

Mine was marked on the turbine housing, on the outside near the flange. It was the only number in the area.

Thanks for the help Aero83. How much can I get the whole HX35 turbocharger for and from where?
I need a little bit more edge in my ride. This H1C is old and starting very soon to destruct itself.
Thanks
Peter

I just got my HX35W in the mail today! You guys have got me really excited! I do have one concern though...it has a small amount of shaft play, around a 1/16th of an inch if that. I was thinking it was probably for oil clearance purposes but I'm not for sure, can anyone shed some light on this for me? And one more thing, do I need to get the internal wastegate flange welded up or will taking off the actuator and converting to external be enough?
