which holset should i run with my sohc motor. im tired of my 14b and want a cheap turbo that can get me in the power region of atleast 300hp. so far im thinking the h1c or the hx30 but its kinda difficult because there isnt many holset user with sohc builds.

Can you find a map for a HX30?Is this a stock motor or somewhat built bottom end?The HY35W would work well for a moderate D16 build the 9cm should spool like 4-5k ish.

It is just a little overkill for a 200whp stock motor kit and that is why i was asking.</TD></TR></TABLE>
yeah well since im limited to only 91 octane out here in cali im thinking the most i can get out of this build will be 250- 300hp or a little bit below daily driven. but its ok cause on track days this will be on c16 race fuel for more power.

got a fun one coming...
A customer bought a new HX55 w/ a 22cm housing. He's in the process of getting a 14 or 16cm housing and machining it to fit. Will probably be at least a month before it comes together, but should be very interesting when done.
Going on a 84mm sleeved built GSR w/ ported head, oversize valves and ITR cams.

Im sleeving a block this winter for my EG and i have a friend at Rotormaster that builds and designs turbos for a living so im trying to figure out what Holset combo to go with for 600whp.

Wow I am surprised this post is still running strong I am currently almost fully underway on my project and the car is almost done. Currently I am running a holset H1C on a B20A in an 89 Honda prelude, the cylinder head is fully ported and I am currently running a 3 pound spring in my wastegate. I currently am still trying to hook-up my electronics and swap out my burnt up clutch. All I can say is this turbo does have quite a bit of lag compared to my t3 super 60 but wow all I have to say is this. In first gear the car really wakes up around 3200 and then when I hit second it just blows the clutch away. All I have to say is this keep your holsets running this is by far the best bang for the buck junkyard turbo in my opinion.

Well i just got mine on, it took a little work. Mines the HX35 with the 16cm housing on a B20B at 10psi. Its a little laggier than the 57 trim but when it comes in, it definatly feels much more solid.

I had to move the fan to the front and reverse its polarity to push, but it enabled me to use the V-Band on the exhaust.
