Lag is only really a problem if you need mid-range power like for road course, drifting and full street use.
On our high efficiency high revving Vtec engines - once you've made boost the car doesn't easily fall off boost completely as long as your gear ratio's allow you to fall into the "boost zone"
I have a special HX40 based turbo going on my 84x89mm Vtec, but im wanting to take the car to road course events as well, so spool is a factor for me.
If my car was meant for drag only I would've gone bigger as well

The street build is getting the special Holset 1st
got my hx35/he351vgt hybrid turbo done. this is just a 7 blade hx40 compressor wheel. I'm using a 12 cm exhaust housing i got full boost @ 4000 rpms. I LOVE IT best turbo i ever had. I machined the hx35 compressor housing to fit. So if you guys got a hx40 wheel, i can machine the compressor housing to fit a hx40 compressor wheel.
I havent posted in a while. But since my last post I put at least 3-4 HE341's on street hondas.
My girl friends JDM GSR Bone stock put down 295whp@10psi (dynojet) on an EBAY cast mani and open DP.

I see talk about Higher EGT ... if you actually live on a diesel forum they run ''retard'' EGT's temps levels where you can virtually can tell no difference in temps between CI/SI engines.
