haha yea, i was mad at her at first, but what diff did it make to be mad so whatever.

hes not done yet. it was funny, he was freaking out like" let me get all the stuff off the motor" i was like"man it dont matter they know its not completed" and started takin pics.

he made the flange for the dp.(got tired of waiting on some flanges we ordered from nelson exhaust)

internal gate will be blocked off.(deltagate) need diaphram, and lower psi spring. anybody know where to get this.

i dont know if hes going to support it.hell probably throw a strap of some sort on it. hes a freak about making stuff and doing it right. he was an airplane mechanic for 15 yrs. his mani is pretty butch. he made it himself also, along with the ic piping, and going to make the 3" exhaust. he also fabbed up his own motor mounts, also the car was originally an auto, pass side bracket is different.

so he is making a pipe off the wastegated section of the holset housing? id say run it normally pre-turbo to generate less turbulence in the housing....

no hes blocking the internal gate off, and putting a deltagate on the manifold, conventional style. i think the way you have it drum, just with a log instead of a neukin.

i will show more pics a progress happens.

ok you can make a steel plate to hold the internal wg shut...its pretty easy...i bent the wg arm over past the housing and made a plate to hold it stationary.

i think we are just gonna drill the cover and put a bolt in it to hold the flapper shut. or at least try that first.

what kind of flange do they use? i know the turbine exit is usually holset's vband, but is the inlet flange a holset flange or is it t3?

i found a retailer for holset hx35 for 600 new.

just look around for pics im sure youll be able to find the part number....

Hx35
the turbine inlet is a t3
it comes in various sizes...
12cm, 14cm, 16cm, and 18cm
12cm= rough .55 a/r
12cm w/ ground out housing (cutting out the divider in the actual turbo will net about a .63 a/r)
most vband flanges on the exhuast flange are 3" ...you have to grind down the surface of the vband on the flange for a universal vabdn to fit...otherwise you need the cummins vband along w/ a mating surface for the DP

the compressor can be that of a:
-hx35, h1c which is the younger brother of hx35 w/ slighty less efficent compressor wheel
s-ome hx35's come w/ a shroud to quite down the surge protection around the turbo air inlet
-most of the hx35's are wastegated...but non wastegated housings are available also...
-a hx40 wheel & housing can be put on a hx35 turbine housing to gain higher cfm

i've found all of that info, but nothing on the flange thanks for putting it all together in one place

i'm also somewhat considering running an hx30 on higher boost.

lsvtec. The costs of running a map sensor capable of supporting the psi i'd like to see on the hx30 would be out of what i'd like to spend, so i'll likely be picking up an hx35 within the week.

i'd need > 3bar, which would be $$$. it seems easier to go lower boost (10-20) with the hx35 vs higher boost with the 30.

well, my boy got his ls running on the holset. and all was well till a fourth gear pull, and the clutch started slipping. oh well it is a stock clutch. i think hes going to order something tomorrow.

but i must say it felt good for the first run on a slipping clutch, it was hard for me to tune cause of the clutch, but i cant wait to get mine running.

any questions?

wow, nobody has any interest in these anymore?

well i ordered him a six puck today, so when it comes in we can see what this big snail can really do. next will be injectors as the ones he has now are pretty much maxed out at 10psi.(by the datalogs, not the guage)

i can say it felt really good. boost was really low in the rpm(clutch slipping aside)

im ready to get mine going now .

yeah i just can't believe that this turbo might spport 400whp and spool better than a standard 57trim .63... Its definitly my next turbo, i have found many at more than reasonable prices (suck me garrett ) Its just unreal how many are available since this turbo (or the slight variation) is so widely used. I'm surprized, especially with the results seen, why more people dont use these things???

I just want more info on spool/response and current exhaust setup from everyone. It can obviously make the power, its got the price, availibility?? lol **** yeah!, support is there, all thats left is spool
