**EG / EK Forum needs YOUR help***
All right guys, I've been thinking a lot on the best ways to improve this forum for EVERYONE. In conclusion I think that cleaning up and creating a new Topic Index is going to be the most benefical objective right now.
IMHO, the biggest issue right now in this forum is a lack of organization. We have several "help me" threads that are duplicates of several other threads. You know, the Reposts! At first I used to get frustrated when I saw these things. I can't really blame them. There are so many duplicate threads that deal with the same topic. For example: When I search the archives for "surging idle" it returns with 196 results The answer is out there, and I found several great posts in those threads. The only problem is, it's scattered all over the place. When someone has a problem and they want an answer. They don't feel like sorting through 196 threads that may or may not address this issue. And to be honest, I don't blame them.
Rather than fighting with the posters of these threads with a "SEARCH n00b!!!!!" and thus cluttering up the board even more, I think that if we had a very thorough and very organized Topic Index, that we could cut back on a lot of these reposts. This would make things easier for you guys (you wouldn't have to keep repeating yourself) It would make it easier for people to fix their problems without having to create a new thread. And it would help keep all related discussions within a few threads.
Here's where the fun part comes in. The old index thread is now 14 pages long and it's getting rather cluttered. I am wanting to appoint either one of you or a few of you the duty of cleaning this thread up and creating another one to watch over/keep clean Maybe have one of you clean up all the ecu/wiring posts in the current thread and sort them out. Then have one of you do all the b-series swap stuff, etc. To those of you that have been wanting to help out and contribute but don't know how to, This is where you can shine.
I am going to post this now to get many of your thoughts on this, I will edit it accordingly.

I am down for this too.
Ive been getting frustated with this ,people even stopped coming here because of this. This is what i suggest:
Create one big thread locked so that it doesnt get cluttered with comments and if someone wants to add a thread to the FAQ,then they can just PM you.
I can help you find important info on all kinds of things.
I have never seen a write up on how to build an engine really well with a bunch of step by step intructions with great pics and info for example,a lot of builds tho.
You can find out how to build an engine but not before looking at 40 threads loaded with pages.
PM me and we can make a helpful faq.
Hope this works, ive noticed there are many better forums with a lot better threads and the new comers to the site have been asking for help but we cant blame them, searching is not so easy.

I already have enough duties here. I am wanting to hand this task onto YOU guys.
You guys work together on what needs to be done. Reply in this thread how you want to work together, etc.

give me a bit and i'll create a new thread and sticky it. Not that it's a pride issue with me, but i'd prefer to create the thread so that I can edit the first post with rules and how it's to be carried out, etc.

HAHA so im not the only one. At first i was tired to understand, now im awake and i still dont understand. Does that mean you guys are bringing back the demi-mod powers were you could edit and lock threads to members?
Best way to keep this forum cleaner is fix up the CEL thread and keep the FAQ up to date. Atleast once a week update the FAQ thread.

Im not sure if you know this but a mod can edit anyone's post.Either way,im logged on this site at least 9 hours everyday so editing wont be a problem.

The thread will be a table of contents with only links to other threads where we can discuss the topics. There will be posts in this thread by members that will be working a certain area.
For example, I will probably handle some transmission stuff. So lets say we have it like this
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Example »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">
Chapter 5 - Transmission
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread/1784621 - D-series hybrid transmission from hell
another_url_to_a_thread - description</TD></TR></TABLE>
then I would be responsible for keeping that "chapter" up to date with links to other threads.
Chapter 4 would be like ECU
chapter 3 could be like b-series swapping
etc, etc,etc.

Allright sounds good.As long as you can put titles before the chapters so that we know what the chapters below are, that will be good.
For example:
<U>Engine</U>

Why not just leave Tom's (B18C5-EH2) thread up but just have someone clean it up? Like check if the pics are still hosted, if they actually have information (some I've seen are basically questions), and just add along recent threads to the first post like DIYs, How Tos, etc. on there also?
i got a few good links here

Toms is good, but it's also very outdated. Look at the rest of the replies in that thread.

I know, but I'm saying like theres still a good amount that are still useful. So just delete the ones that aren't and add new ones. Or if you do make a new thread, make it in the same format. No need for chapters. This isn't a story or something
