The Official EF Discussion Thread
I'll post pics later.

The one mounted on the seat is my old wedge bracket for a 91 CRX. You would never guess made by the same company. And I don't know what the weird t bar is where I'm supposed to mount my receiver

Apparently Canadian ef's have different mountings than the us 'cause i had a hard time finding brackets for my car. So I just welded the bitch to the floor. Problem solved lol
88-89's and 90-91 civics are different than crx here. Not sure how they compare to Canadian cars or JDM stuff. I would think there would be a similarity somewhere though.
RS- that new one definately looks different than the old that's for sure. Sucks that it won't work.

Okay, I need some input. I ordered the Wedge bracket, and upon initial inspection, it appeared to be ever so slightly crooked. I measured it out, and it's not. But, the seatbelt mount so not for a hatch.
I figured the bracket may be for a sedan. Also please note, my previous bracket in the pic is a sparco for a 91 CRX. The prev wedge bracket I had/have in storage, is for an 89 civic.
Wedge doesn't do returns, as they are 'custom' to order. So I requested to at least have the mount fixed, that it was not correct for the hatch.
I had emailed the request, and ended up calling after sending the email to make sure the info was clear and figured it may be easier talking to someone. The person on the other end insisted that I was wrong as they have sold hundreds of these and that is always the right mount.
I told him I had experience with the 89 civic hatch, the 91 civic hatch and the 91 CRX, and all of those had a single bolt to mount the receiver. And I told him it most likely is the sedan that may have that mount. Again, met with no I'm wrong, I can send it to get changed, but there may be cost once they see what they have to do.
I'm pretty pissed by this point and want to say f'it and just order planted and sell my mount to a sedan owner.
THEN, I get an email from them saying go ahead and send the bracket back and they'll make it right - and as an aside - they've made these brackets for years, had employees with this same vehicle and they have always been correct, but they'll make it right, per my instruction.
I responded to the email with a thank you and a copy of the honda seatbelt diagrams from majestic clearly showing the hatch uses a single bolt mount and the sedan does in fact use the dual bolts.
I'm at the point where I'm not sure if I should send it back (I have to pay shipping $12 or more I estimate on their calculator, that's about what I paid anyway) and let them fix it, or I should just say f it, order the planted and sell this one.
I'd be out $100 or so on this one.

As it sits, it's a fully functional sedan mount - I just need one for a hatch, lol.
Anyone need a mount for a sedan?
That's the thing, you have it fixed on your dime or wait to sell it. Who knows how long that could take. Its a shame that you have to go through it all. Being a one off piece makes it harder to sell as well. Does the bracket fit more than one seat type?
Exactly. And unfortunately, no.
If your to sell it than, it would have to someone who wants that particular seat which makes it harder. I would just have them fix it and be done. Probably wouldn't spread good things about them anymore either. Plenty of better options available. Sucks you have to figure this out after the successes you previously had through them.

I have to go to my storage unit and dig up the 89 bracket as well.
Well, got my cusco bar the other day and installed it, only to realize I should have waited since I have yet to do my rear brake swap and will need to get the prop valve out, lol.
It looks nice, but I dont like how my return fuel line and throttle cable fit around it, I'll snap pics tonight.
Also, will be letting wedge fix mount, after I finish test fitting it all - seat to bracket and bracket to floor so i can see if anything else needs to be fixed
