im the goofy looking one in the middle who cant stop smiling.
The 24 hours of Lemons welcomes Team Gutty for their first year at the event. Rules of this race were simple but yet very complex. The car couldn't be out of a 500$ budget so most of the cars on the track were giant HEAPS of CRAP.
I saw some very interesting setups and some of the most ugly cars I have ever seen to this date. Weather was cold but we manged to stay alive.
Team Gutty finished the race and the car is still ready for another race.

Thats awesome.. how do they keep track of the 500$ budget though? just curious how they regulate it.
and is the cage mandatory for all cars?
Nothing around me like that, looks like a blast though.. I have seen some pretty wild photos from past lemon races!

The judges are quite good at spotting BS ans over budget cars....and they issue lots of penalty laps for those cars....basically they start with negative laps
And yes...the racing is intense...cars crash ....and the safety gear /cage is heavily inspected and there are lots of rules

Sold the second crx and I love all the free space in the garage now, gotta stop cleaning and organizing and get back to wrenching. I dont have many local car buddies either, stuck on a dang island. The FB stuff has me pretty busy as well and gives me motivation again. I also started on a charity thing with some friends sending youth to camp. Just trying to do and learn as much as I can!
Going to Spring Nationals this weekend in Englishtown, probably just the day trip. Hope to get some more EF coverage. Also... was super disappointed about not being in CA long enough to see the FF battle.. but Jim Harris texted me last night and said that Eibach is locked in!! Ill be able to go to Wekfest LA and Eibach Meet at Irwindale Speedway during my trip. Beyond stoked!

Hold on now... My calendar reads as follows:
June 2nd- Wekfest
June 10th- Eibach
June 23rd- FF battle
Ill be in CA from end of May - June 12th.. did they move the date?!

Woah, I'm out of the loop. They changed their date. I just checked out the thread. They probably realized a lot of people would skip the event for FF Battle. Too bad you can't make the battle.

yeah.. kinda bummed. the price of flights skyrockets after my booked trip home... already looked into moving it!
If I found an EF at a steal of a price I would drive it home and just leave whenever!
Ill have to deal with hardparker events.
-trust me, Would much rather see some action!
Still should be cool to see what the other coast offers up, meet some of the people I BS with.
Guessing you wont be at either event prepping for the battle?

Wow, guess im blessed that almost all my friends, that live in the same area as me, are car buddies.

We placed 22nd of 68 cars... had a combined 20 minute's of breakdowns ...which kept us from the top 10..
Laptimes were fine...we were right there.
15+ hrs on track solid.... and it comes down to a couple minutes and luck!
Doing our next one in June. Cannot wait
Started the race myself.. being in a crowded track was amazing. Radio was going nuts calling out problems....offs....car to car contact... etc. It was awesome. Never forget that
