The Official EF Discussion Thread
I am really grateful to have the opportunity to meet and see some of the things I have.
I gotta say the people I met and conversations I had were awesome. The insight and behind the scenes look was priceless. I actually got in 2 hours before the event started thanks to Geoffrey from Weaksauce and that helped a ton with meeting people and getting an opportunity to shoot/talk before the crowds moved in.
Not just the business owners and "industry celebs" that were friendly and what not. I bullshitted with so many random locals and felt so comfortable being there. I almost didnt want to leave.. it was one of those moments you think about over and over and then it happens and you realize East/West/Osaka/wherever... everyone just loves what they do. The vibe of pure love for what everyone does was hair raising and I will be sure to attend as many west coast events as I can. The east has a much more competitive feel for sure. I think that generates from the Drag Racing and competition level.
Not that I dont see the dedication on the East it just seemed to me more like "family" here... Everyone has a hand out to shake and no matter who you are, they seem to give a fair shake. I know its not as easy for everyone but I encourage everyone to travel out of your normal scene and see the scene from another side.
No no, no jealousy.. I share it all and do it so hopefully more people will invest their lives and emotions into this culture/ their car like we all have. Its a hobby at the end of the day.. more people need hobbies so we stop sulking in front of a TV or getting caught up in not-so-good things. Trying to keep the act of having a Hobby alive more than anything!!
*sorry for the long response. I have become a very talkative person lately!
How long are you going to be in SoCal?
The Norm Reeves show is coming up in a couple weeks, and the Annual EF meet is soon after that. As well as FF Battle. And obviously the Eibach meet. Lots of stuff going on this June!
As for the CRX Exclusive...I can appreciate the rarity of it, but I really can't stand that tan interior.
I'm fairly sure the Exclusive only came in black? So either they swapped the interior into a non-exclusive chassis, or they painted the car?

I hate tan interior, but for some reason I like the Exclusive interior. It's like a darker shade, kind of like the tan interior they put in the E46 M3s. My F150 has tan interior, and it is lighter, and I hate it. This guy is a baller. He completely restored the interior, has a silly amount of rare parts. The car also has a K20 swap with a gold plated valve cover, and engine mounts. Not my cup of tea, but the entire car was done with an exquisite level of attention to detail. Every suspension piece is powder coated as well.
Rodrez hooked me up with Loi from sportcar motion and got to go down to the shop yesterday and see some wild stuff.. no EFs but some EF parts.. sick track cars, K series Lotus progress, K series everywhere! the KRZ was so cool to see and hear run too.
EF9 Cusco carbon fiber rear tie bar was on display. super rare.. very cool to see in person still in cusco packaging! Ill add some pics eventually.

Man seems like everyone has been busy!
Looking forward to the EF meet. Well, we're pretty much out of the house and into the new apt. I sold the rabbit, and got a pretty good price on it and got to keep my bbs's. I may sell them or try to trade them for something nice for the civic.
Today had an interesting thing happen tho, hit the turn signal and the damn thing turns on, but doesn't blink?!?
I need a new relay right?

I would love to stay for it all and heck if the right opportunity came up I would stay for it all! I will be around until next weekend for Eibach but leave during that week. I already am jonesin' to get some work done on my own build. This trip has definitely opened my eyes a bit more, look forward to seeing more EFs at Eibach. Please tell me you will be there? would be great to meet some more EF guys and I really like your crx!

Otherwise, there's a guy on crxcommunity that's considering parting his RHD CRX, but it would need to be sent from Hapan.
I need you guyses opinion on the age old question: Turbo D16 vs NA B17. My DPFI D15 is getting tired and slower, but I have a Si tranny and A6 head sitting, and a B17 block/crank/rods sitting. For the cost of a rebuilt B17 block/swap, I can have a rebuilt D16A6 that'll happily hold 400whp+... But I can't decide.
