YEAH THOSE ARE THE PLUGS I'M USING. THEY HELP ALOT.
COULD YOU PASS SOME INFO ON HOW YOU WENT ABOUT DOING THE WELD?
i HAVE BEEN PONDERING MYSELF HOW TO FIX MINE. i WAS GOING TO CUT A SQAURE OUT WHERE THE HOLE IS, THEN TIG WELD THE NUT ON THE BACK THEN WELD THE SQAURE BACK IN PLACE ON THE PILLAR.
BUT IT LOOKS LIKE YOU WENT ABOUT IT A DIFFERENT WAY

Bodywork isnt hard man. Really it doesnt matter how much schooling you have you learn the most by just getting your hands in there and do work.

You now have a lap joint versus a butt joint. For some, its easier to weld.

I need a new one but for the most part the setup works fine.
You can actually buy those plugs from Kragen. I have a extra set if u need.

How about skipping the part where you cut a square out of the b pillar. Make a separate square out of maybe 1/8" to 1/16" thick material, drill a hole in the center, place the nut over the hole, and weld nut. Drill a hole in the b pillar large enough for the nut to sit recessed, then weld around the perimeter of the square. Get it?

MOMO hub is good too. If you live in a thieft driven city then go with a HKB or NrG short hub. But I don't know if they make NrG shirt hubs for out year civic.

i need some help from you guys!
heres my problem :
my crx wont hold a charge.
-good alternator
-3 GOOD grounds in engine bay( engine harness to thermo housing, head to headlights and frame to starter)
-all grounds to chassis harness in cabin connected
-checked fuses and theyre all good
-main power wire from alt to fuse box is 2 wires put together using a butt connector
-its an h2b swap. 92-95 civic obd1 alternator. usdm
-converted to right hand drive using obd0 crx SiR ecu harness, engine harness, and usdm crx rear harness spliced in.also running the jdm fuseboxes. currently running obd1 with a boomslang jumper. it runs great! but throwing code 20
im stumped! i need to have this car running GOOD by tomorow!
one thing i found interesting is the alternator plug. heres a pic:

this might be stupid, but is there a difference between the jdm alternators and usdm alternators? ive never seen a plug like this
