I have an ebay question/problem...

Is it legal for a seller to contact you asking for more money for an item, claiming that pre-order demand/sales weren't high enough so he will require that I pay him more or he will give a refund? I call bullshit on this and I am not going to pay him any more for this damn header that he said would be here by mid december. here is the exact email I got from him...

Me, but I don't use it. It's safely in a box for use "some day."

I see nothing wrong if he's offering a refund.

It's like any car repair shop...they can't do more than estimated until they call and confirm the additional repairs with you.

Ditto. Atleast he sent you a message about it. That does suck though. I think I would be a little mad.

i think u can contest it. They agree to sell the item at the auctioned price just like you agree to pay the price you bid.

I would exercise extreme caution moving forward. This sounds like the typical fishing, eBay scam. If he wants to send your money back, fine, but don't give out any sort of Paypal or credit card info.

The seller is not allowed to up prices after the auction sale
check the ebay t.o.s

the only way he can is if the auction was listed as shipping prices quoted after end of bid. If shipping price is stated in the auction it has to be honered

Ooops didn't pay attention to the Ebay part. Yea they can't do that. Once the auction ends they are in a "contract" to sell for the ending price just like you are in buying it.

Do you guys think I'd be safe running 92 octane on 10:1 compression with boost? I don't wanna run e85 or race gas.

HELL YEAH! That's old school right there. Buy a B&M pressure regulator...turn it up a bit...then install a vtec "switch" right on your shift **** or steering wheel. I just went back 7 years and realized how many of these set-ups I saw at the runs. Haha.

Seriously though...with the parts availability and people like rywire...just go OBD1.
