I searched and searched and haven't found a good EF SI B18c1 swap build thread.
If you know of one, can you shoot me the link. I'm starting my swap next month and
even tho there is a ton of info on the subject(all of which I have and or, have researched)I still have yet to come across a nice EF SI B18c1 Build thread with good pics and such. Thanks in advance.

I thought Rywire had a good write up on his site.. I believe he has a new site though. Im sure its archived somewhere.. Cant find it myself. Rywire.com has a lot of good tech stuff though either way.. your main concern with the swap is probably wiring anyway.. so start there. first swap?

I just took the B18C1 out of my 91 si. The IACV on the stock IM comes VERY close to the firewall, and the Throttle body is very close to the Metal fuel fitting on the firewall. I had to unbolt it and try to bend it down a little. I suggest buying an aftermarket IM for the gsr motor before swapping it in to save you time, space, and headache. Wiring the secondary butterflies is a PITA also. I never did get mine to work...

oh, also the VC will rub the hood. You might want to use a few washers to shim the motor down 1/8"...I cut most of the support webbing out of my hood where the VC is and it still rubs in some areas.

No it's not my first swap. I'm just itching to start but don't have all my parts yet. I have 2 swaps under my belt, Nissan, Datsun stuff. But my buddies both have done a couple of Honda swaps. I'll be fine, I just want to "see" stuff, not just read about it. lol. I will be using the Rywire full harness and jumper.

LOL, I sold that motor to a friend. Just gotta finish putting my LS back together and have it tuned. I've cleaned the bay with rubbing compound before and got it pretty clean, but the paint is just stained from being so old and not taken care of. Eventually, I'll have it painted along with the car since it isn't a daily driver anymore, but I'm gonna wait until I have a garage to leave it disassembled in. It's so nice not to have to drive my project car every day anymore!

anyone have 8" wide wheels? Are 195/50 tires wide enough or are you using 205/50's?

195's are stretched...so are 205's. My 225's fit flush with my 8" wheels (looks the same as my 7" wheels with 205's in the rear)

Hey b16xcrxt, when you had the gsr in your ef with the ac compressor did you have to swap out the crossmember to make it fit? Im about to order the ac bracket from innovative and put my ac compressor back on my b20. Just wanted to know if fitment would be a problem.

Used the stock crossmember for a long time with my A/C. It didnt cause any problems, but they were VERY close to each other. I never heard/felt them contact and there were no rub marks on either when I swapped out the x-member.

mine sat on the crossmember however I used the Integra compressor which is quite a bit larger than the civic one. I drove around with it like that for one day and could not take it as it felt like solid mounts. The vibration it caused was HORRIBLE.

someone care to explain to me what happened to my lca's? i had a shop press out the bushing and they came out like this;

the gouges look fresh so im assuming it was them. Question is can i reuse these now? ill be putting in sphericals, so im not sure if they will be damaged upon re-pressing.
