i find myself constantly on one site, reading everything, and thats roadraceautox.com , where most of the "old" roadrace/autox dudes from here went when most of them got the boot...haha

i'm on NWP, but i mainly just lurk. lots of great , high-dollar builds on there...but i'm more into crappy functional track cars than how much people can spend on seats and wheels....

i might wax my car and post some pictures up someday soon....been fiddling with it, and i'm planning on firing some good work out soon, as i need to drag it to a track at the end of april, and i want to drive it around a bit soon.

Blu, check the Hot side intercooler piping for oil to see if it's seals are going out. You have options for rebuilding the turbo if that's the case. It sucks to keep hearing about all the troubles you're having. That's the main reason I haven't gone turbo again.

that gonna suck having to take the dp off...wish i had the extra money for v-band. but i'll be checking the ic piping and compression also. hope it's not the turbo b/c it only has maybe 3000 miles on it.

but i'm contemplating selling everything and getting a B16b for track duty. this time i'll make sure it's stock

I didn't mean the dp, as any oil where you would be able to see, would be burned off anyway. Just check the piping at the compressor housing. I'd rather rebuild a turbo than a motor. Cheaper and u won't have to retune.

Ya snow blows, blue, how is your oil return line setup? ANY resistance will lead to burning out a turbo, also do you run a restrictor? ANd yes vband is the ****, i got that on my gt30r,

Have a -10AN line running straight into the oil pan with no bends. Yeah I have a .065 restrictor that I’ve been running for the last 3 months. Was just white smoke in the am while the car warmed up but now it’s oil smoke when I’m sitting at the light.

I think I found my next adventure.. Just realized they are Building the Ariel Atoms in Virginia, right near VIR and they offer a "Driving Experience" seems pricey (500$).. but I doubt I will ever own my own.

Think we could get an EF group meet/Atom experience day together!?!

is your bearing housing rotated so the drain is pointed straight down? If it isn't, then oil will pool up in there and bake and fry your seals. (its hard to tell in the pic)

or its simply being overfed, a very common problem with turbo hondas.

or its got some blowby, which is backing up into the turbo through the drain, pressurizing the CHRA on the turbo, puking oil into the downpipe, etc. another very common thing on turbo hondas

or its detonating , killing rings faster, and starting to smoke.

id put money on a combo of the first two.

a compression test doesnt mean that much, IMO, but a leakdown test means a LOT. that'll tell you how much the crankcase is being pressurized.

so, did you do anything with a catch can venting setup yet? if your still rocking a stock PCV, that might be your problem. you might need to vent that bottom end, and that might be your only problem.

Ive seen one two many turbo horror stories to jump into it. Im very content with my NA power. I would build a turbo car if I had endless income aka a money tree but until then.. Ill suck every last HP out of a NA motor before going with Boost!

At least you got a beating in before this snow hit.. Weather is crazier than all my ex's combined lately! Guess that bike is gonna have to wait a few more days!
