New Azenis are extremely expensive for what they are.

Check out the Bridgestone RE-11 while they have a 100 dollar rebate, the Kumho XS is also a decently priced sticky street tire.

the bridgestones are a great tire....

i believe there is a rebate on new azenis for a few more days from discount tire.....might want to call and check if thats still available..

or, do what i do...buy a set of used ones. used tires RULE. i just got a set of 50% life-left azenis 615s for 40 bucks.

just got a set of 50% life-left hoosier r6's for free.

got a set of Ra1's, 40% left, free

last year all my track tires were "real" racer cast-offs, FREE.

ONE WORD

buddies.

i have some buddies who know people, or who go places, etc. my friend tom has raced ITB H4 for years and years. he doesnt run tires forever...he gives me used tires.... he also picks up a dozen or more cast-offs at every race (dudes just throw them away usually), and sells them to buddies, or gives them away in exchange for stuff, and pays for part of his racing expenses that way.

i have a set of 13'', 14'', and 15'' track wheels (all junk really), so i can pick up anything and use it usually.

gotta be flexible, gotta be willing to drive a bit sometimes, gotta help buddies with cars, crew for dudes, etc.

it makes the hobby more fun, cheaper, and more exciting

Just to let you guys know, I went to a Junk yard the otehr day and got 5 of the fan relays (in the engine bay) and two fan blower resistors in case any of you have climate controls that don't blow on settings one and two. Let me know if you guys need any of it. I may also have my 91 si bumper support for sale if anyone needs it. Got me an HF one. I also snagged the HF front sway bar to hopefully help out with this under steer issue my car has.

How did you get away without cutting any of the webbing out of the hood? You got a B16 or something? Hell, even when I had a B16, I think it rubbed on some part of the webbing...

I know this question has been answered a million times, but Im going to ask it again just to be sure...

b16 in an 88 crx si. throttle cable should be a 90-93 LS cable.. or the stock cable with the "innovative" bracket... question, what bracket do you use when using the 90-93 Ls cable? if any.. the manifold that came with the car had a piece of scrap metal holding it all together.. doubt thats oem!

and... Any fellow EF'ers going to Spring Nationals in Englishtown, NJ?

See thats weird you ask that because a couple of people have been asking me that. Its a b16, but I have never had rubbing issues with the hood. Does everyone else have a rubbing problem?

Well the stock cable with the fabbed up bracket is working for now, but isnt very responsive. hoping the right cable and bracket will fix that up.. Droppedcrxsi.com (rywires page) says to use an LS cable and ive read some other places on here that the LS cable is needed or a bracket to use the stock cable..

Jolly, car looks great.. and clean shots too! I have no rubbing issues with my 88si w/ a b16 and Im yet to put a hood on my 91 w/ a b18 but I have a usdm spec CF hood with the "jdm" bump in the middle for clearance. A friend with a 4foor ef w/ b18 oem hood, had to do some notching on the underside tho.

I have heard that some notching is needed for most b swaps unless using a "jdm" hood with the reverse hump in the middle(up instead of down) or throwing some washers in to lower the motor on the mounts, but then you may run into oil pan clearance issues. Or you could be super cool and throw some spacers under your hood bolts... if thats your thing. Just giving out some examples, each car, mount, motor may all line up differently though.

Keep it clean, your really going JDM front? A front lip would be a good addition!
