The Official EF Discussion Thread

BTW the brake fluid is new Motul RBF 600, look at the before and after.

Here is what the H22 bay has looked like.
This was awhile ago:

And how its looked the past 5-6 months.

Dont worry guys give it some time.

BTW That H22 bay looks so tasty. Those high life bottle caps on the shock towers is a great touch.
Naw man. Your bay really has made a vast improvement. I'm not picking your bay apart but merely suggesting a couple things to make it that much better. Like constructive comments. The car as a whole has made a lot of progress since you posted it last month. So keep up the good work.

I welded up an oem replacement muffler, sounds better than my world sport lol. I have some piping on the way to do the tip this weekend. Itll be somewhat BC SpecII inspired, albeit coming out of an oval muffler and a whopping 1.5".

Some inspiration...
I did compare the pics of the brake fluid between the 2 pics. Level looked slightly different, but the lighting and angle was off too so I chalked it up to that. I personally use genuine mercedes benz fluid,
. I get it for free and if its good enough for use in something like an SL65, then its good enough for my little EF. haha

Anyways, I switch between ATE Super Blue and Typ200. Same boiling points, different color, half the price of Motul.
On another note, I'm sooooooo excited for Laguna. Only 3 more days. Fahk. I'm not ready
should have been placed after the "Hating on the engine bay" to show that it didnt bother me.
Thats weird about the Motul, iv never had problems with it getting darker. Ill keep an eye on it though.
Going to auto-x it as much as possible. Prob do a lot of events in Tampa/Ft. Myers and occasionally make the trek over to the east coast.
Once the Z1's are finally toast I have a set of Fuzion Zri's that are going on. They are less sticky, but are on par with Yokohama S. Drives and other ~300 treadwear tires.
I really wish my friend would get back to me about the title. Its been taking forever.

Same here, on my second sender. They hate vibration. I just dont like the idea of running an oil line into the cabin, plus the back lighting is different (on autometer gauges) with mehanical versus electric and it bugged the crap out of me.
I run a mechanical one. It's been in the car for about 2 years with no issues(knock on wood). For some reason the light in it is a little more dim than my EGT gauge...
I hate autometer, their senders are junk. VDO has much nicer built stuff and is cheaper than that autometer crap.

NickRPS-Nice shot.. good luck out there. bring some videos back.
I have some autometer gauges Im yet to install.. have it all ran and wires up just have not put the motor in yet.. Do you think buying some new senders (maybe the VDO ones) would be a good idea? or are all senders going to crap out after a decent amount of time?
I like those VDO gauges very stealthy and its nice to see that you can purchase your own size sender, it comes with wire... looks like quality and fair prices.

They must hate vibration. I finally remote mounted it on the firewall. Hopefully that will make this one last longer. Running an oil line into the cabin makes me nervous, but it eliminates a sender going out on you. The only thing that could fail then would be the needle on the gauge itself.
Nick, where are you mounting the sending unit?
I have a Stack and mounted it below the intake mani (h22) and havent had any problems.
Edit: Nvm I can read I swear. Do you have pics of where you mounted it? Im not sure where to mount them on the hatch.

If you run a line into the cabin, just make sure its an SS one. Stay away from that plastic/nylon line stuff. My autometer sender is remotely mounted, but its hung off the intake manifold bracket (not an ideal location). It really needs to be moved for longevity of the sender.
My set up also allows operation of the stock idiot light, using the proper bspt adapters.

It's too dark now so will take a pic this weekend. I have it mounted to the firewall on an existing tab I no longer use for anything (I think it's the tab for the heater valve). I also used -3 line and 1/8 npt goodies.
I mounted mine where the radio goes...

I have since removed heat and the climate control.. not sure what im going to throw into the opening. May re-do it and put the gauges there and just a block off plate on the radio.
Hope that helps.
