hey dude, can you pull out the heim and take a pic of it? Is there spacer for it?
Most likely it's a 5/8 heim fromhttp://www.speedwaymotors.com/Pro-1-...-Heims,83.html or a QA1 http://qa1.thomasnet.com/viewitems/2...1416&forward=1

Most of the bars use some kind of budget rodend because a quality one is like 40bucks each

I know for sure 88-95 is all the same.

I hope that's all it is. Now that I think about it, the temp tends to go down as I get going. I'll check that out. So both fans should be on when the a/c is on?

yep. As soon as you turn the a/c on, both fans should run, and continue to run.

Man all this news about the BAR ref's have me concerned, lol. I just started working on my hatch again and it's already got the swap in there.

Either way I called to see if I can get an answer on this, they tell me it may take 2 days to get a response though.

yea, i wanna just buy some nicer, newer ones and then the bar will be good as new. But ESP won't give me the specs on them for some reason. he wants a video of them moving. if the rain stops i'll get that video. If ESP doesn't cooperate, i plan on making a few posts describing my experience with their parts and how they handled the issue.

I just checked out their site I don't think you'll be able to fit an Aurora in there safely because the way he made the bracket with no spacers. They are the ones from the first link.

me neither. i think he thinks that my assessment of the problem is incorrect. Which could be possible. But the problem he described as common is not the problem i am having. if the next response from him isn't an answer, i'm going to publicly display the entire email conversation with a youtube video of the problem his parts come with and then i'll move on to a K-Tuned bar.

Okay, just got my callback from a BAR ref (earlier than expected). Nice guy. Confimred that as of October of last year the CA BAR had some information posted on the website, that confirmed as of April 15, 2009 JDM engine swaps were NO LONGER ALLOWED, period.

Now some additional clarification - you can use a JDM engine as a direct replacement if it was available in that particular car in the USA/USDM market and ONLY in that situation. SO that means if you had a del sol or a civic coupe that had an available B16 swap, you can go right ahead and cite direct replacement.

Those of us with an EF chassis, since there were nothing but SOHC's avail, sorry no love.

Now another exception, you CAN do a swap, if you use a USDM engine. So if you have an EF, you can do a B16, B18, etc as long as it is USDM. And if you get that certified you can now have the option of using a JDM engine as a direct replacement if that engine goes boom.

So if you are like me - 89 civic, B16A1 - you have a couple of options.

1. Sell the car.
2. Sell the swap and get a USDM equivalent.
3. Rebuild the engine using a USDM block (has to have the US markings on the head and block)
4. Trade the swap for a USDM equivalent or less - i.e. trading that B16 for a B18A/B.

So Vega, you and I are effectively screwed. Unless someone opens a business to lend and install a USDM B16 just for people to get certified with, then they could put the JDM one back in after.

so technically, if someone were to do that, next inspection they would be good with the JDM motor?

Technically, yes, if they got BAR'd with the USDM B16, they would now be open to use a JDM B16 as a direct replacement.

Oh and your tires just look like they are rubbing the fender lip and taking small chunks out.

Yeah, that is when your susp is under compression and you are turning, like into a driveway, something nicks it when you are going in reverse.

For those of you following this:

"Hello, thanks for the inquire. Your video was great and helped us see the issue. This is only our 4th complaint over the years and thousands we have sold. However we are going to be switching over to something with a tighter tolerance and way overkill strength. Please hit me up in a week. If we are happy with the quality we will ship you out a set for $50 shipped. Thanks and sorry for the inconvience. Thanks-John"
