Took my car down to the local 1/8th mile track last night. I cannot get it to stop spinning. Its a 90 crx with a b18a, stock suspension, street tires.

I know slicks would help me out abunch. But I am just looking to do this for fun...really dont want to make a purchase like that just for me to run in acouple times.

Any of you guys have any tips on launching? E-brake? Any help would be nice...

Are you preloading the clutch at all? What transmission are you running/RPM are you launching at?

I have a b16 tranny...or atleats thats what I have been told. I dont really know if its a b16 or LS tranny. Hmmm, at 60 mph its a 3grand, if that helps anything.

I have only ran the car 3 times. I am pretty inexperianced at it also. I am going to try to find somewhere to practice alittle today to see what I can come up with.

The torque of that B18 down low in an EF must feel pretty nice. I'd say try preloading the clutch and hold the e-brake while keeping the motor around the powerband to launch (makes for smoother launches and saves your axles too). It really comes down to practice/getting a feel for the motor/chassis. Good luck with it

I wish I remembered where my launch was @
I was having the same problems @ first when I was doing the 1/8

I think you need to launch between 4-5
I was on street tires as well
I never used the e-brake

around 80mph u should be @ 5000rpms in a y1/s1/j1 b16 tranny

I used to drag my B18a back in the day...and I launched at about 2300-2500. With a one legger and a lil' bit of torque, it would rip up the tires. If you get into it a bit, try some simple street drag radials.

I just spent a great deal of time looking around for an AP1/Ap2 and I am pretty sure you can find one in good-great condition for 12K-16K.

Yeah, I finally came to my senses and decided to keep the fit haha. With gas prices skyrocketing right now, I don't think I'll be able to balance the pleasure of owning an s2k with the price of 91 . That and 2 seater insurance cost, cargo capacity, etc.

i liked the Mugen RNR's and Kosei K1's better on your car.

Are you ever going to build something other then a CRX? I love that about companies like HASport and RyWire. plenty of love for the EF chassis. a lot of companies dont even make parts for the EF.
