The Official EF Discussion Thread
He efkid you are smart with electrical, right. If you dont mind trying to help. Dont feel like posting a thread for it.
I have a little problem with my alt. Its brand new. Test good across the board. But the car wont run off the alt. Only running off the battery. I disconnect the cable going into the box and im getting like 4 volts. Getting a Eld code which i think is due to the alt. Any suggestions.
Then i have some others if you want to give me some pointers.
4 CKP - crank position sensor -- was told to switch the blue/green and blue/yellows around
6 ECT - water temperature sensor -- changed the sensor on the side of the head and still nothing
10 IAT - intake air temperature sensor -- have no clue. color say its the right wires leading into it.
20 Electrical load detector -- maybe the alt, dont know.
are my codes haha. Car is obd1 with a mini me (d15b2/d16z6) in a crx.

sounds like a common ground problem for 2 of the sensors?? Did u do a dpfi to mpfi? You might have wired the dizzy wrong. Maybe.

No. I have a 88 crx si harness in my 91 si. I might have mix up the driver side connector. Right now though the stupid alt. is screwing me up seeing as i kill the battery real fast trying to source things out haha. O well thanks though.

Make sure all the wire colors match up on the shock towers. Where is the alt from? Sometimes you get duds. Your ELD is in the fuse box under the hood. They do go bad.
You can check continuity from the sensor plugs to the ecu to make sure everything is right.
1) {4} Cylinder Position sensor Blue/Yellow C2
2) {4} Cylinder Position sensor Blue/Green C1
3) {6} ECT Did you bleed the cooling system?

I thought about that also, But normally when that happens you get both codes.

Not always, i did a mpfi swap and got code 10 and not the iacv code. Either way the red and green wire should be going to the IAt and the the blue and black (i think) should be going to the iacv

I dunno what im going to do if i cant fix my sedan.. if i get another one, it will be a while, and i wont accept any other colors other than silver or Light blue. I think mine will be getting fixed though.
im having doubts about fixing up my hatch.
i just bought an hks sport catback and wheels and tires.
but it seems pointless to try and do it to such an old car.
i hate these moments

I think so. You wouldnt happen to know a link showing again. Im going to search also, but you might have a more informative one.
But the car is at my shop. I am bringing it home tomorrow so i can work on it better. Thanks everyone for all the responds.
The iat wires are the red/green ones, i made sure to check that. Also i know about the eld i have a spare one already but first i wanted to see if maybe it had more to do with all my wiring faults. Also i took my alt to autozone and they run a test on it. It pass all there test, so its good.
Anyone have just a diagram of the ecu clips and what wire is what. I have a haynes and a pdf file style haynes and neither have a good wiring diagram of the ecu. Thanks.

something is horribly the matter with you my s0n.
Its more of a "hobby" kinda thing you have to get into.
The age of the car doesn't matter, its what you want to get out of it in the long haul that keeps the motivation. No matter what the car is going to get old. The car will depreciate in vaule no matter what. But how long to you plan on keeping the car will probably determine how much you spend on it.

Well omg thank you. I think i found out my ELD. The green/red wire was hack to **** on my connector. I have to push it in and want not. Never new what it was. Well i guess i know now. Thanks so much. This little bit of info should help me great fully.
