i'll have a heart attack if it actually passes tech. unsecured components/expired harnesses/etc scares me.
and cheap tires thst turn to jelly should never be on a track.
no offense james, you do your own thing but you have a ways to go before you have a real trackable car.

a lot of people let old pictures, past mistakes, and personal opinions screw things up.
tunel vision never helped anyone while building a car.

you need:
real suspension
real brakes
a functioning powertrain
real safety
real tires
you got some big money stuff there to take care of before you can be on a track. not even competitive, just on the track.
my eg will pass tech easily on the basis of it is essentially stock with the exception of the gsr swap. and that i took the time to make everything fit like stock right down to an oem intake arm etc. life is easy when you don't cobble. if you had followed the guidelines of get it done, get it done right you would never catch hell from people like you do.

what ever happen to testing the car. Seeing what a car can do. What you consider real brakes, real tires, real suspsension may not be the same for other people.
There is no "rule book" on certain and specific parts that can be used to make your car trackable. True it may not get the fastest times but who said I was going for that on my first run. I'm just going out there to enjoy my car and see aht it can do. Thats all that really matters to me. I'll learn with more experience and thats what really counts. Planes didn't fly on the first run
cathing hell never bothered me because no matter what you do their is going to be someone who won't like it. And if you build your car based on what other people feel and think you might as well just have someone do it for you. I bult my car for the gain of knowlegde and experience. To do something that I have never done b4. The whole time I did my own thing and accomplished my own goals.
My car is still in the process of being built but I'm happy as hell with what I accomplished and I made myself happy.
money means nothing if you don't have the knowlegde and experience behind it. Can't really stress that much enough. I would rather learn from tial and error then follow someone elses preferences. Their is a huge market of aftermarket parts that work just as good if not better then others.

you gotta respect that. i'll admit that he has came a long way since the first time i saw his car(s).
i dont like a lot of the visual aspects of his car..... but he does do all of his own work. you can't take that away from him.
i'm still keeping my sig though, ****!

from what ive seen of james's car(prob some older pictures)- the only thing keeping it from the track was the way the harnesses were mounted...i see you dont have the roll-bar in the car(an assumtion made from a pic you posted of your car a couple pages back)...so i wouldnt use harnesses w/o a rollbar w harness mounts...its totally unsafe and would not pass a real tech inspection....other than that his car will pass tech fine....i have seen way ghettoer cars at the track..and props for you taking the car to the track and learning in a safe environment....remember road-racing is 80% driver 20% car

personally, i wouldn't track that car. i just wouldn't feel confident in it. yeah you are out ot see where you stand currently and where you need to improve but personally i just wouldn't trust the slimy tires and the suspension. i could jsut see the car spinning too easily. there are a handful of other things that i would do differently but then again, i am a technician and you are not. you are learning through trial and error and i already know.
good luck and a big thumbs up to you for trying, just know that you will need ot focus on some things if you intend to take yourself seriously when doing it. even if you just go and cahse cones you will find what you are looking for.
people autocross rental cars because they can. they never place too highly unless they are a good driver in a class like sts. like stefn said 80/20. but that 20 can make a difference when it is predictable and controlable.
