Yes, your timing will be off. The engine will still run but not as good as it should.

i knew it to check this timing is this the one where im suppose to go under the dash and do that thing with the paper clip and then loosen the 3 bolts from dizzy and point timing light to pulley and move the dizzy till it lines up with the line with the one on the plastic cover covering the timing belt

I loved your car Junkie. I am about to do the same thing, for the same reason to my old beater hatch. In her prime fresh rustoleom! LOL
Mine to will also be a semi gloss/satin look soon. I just need to get the car running first. And now thanks to 1 fly si. That might be soon. I just got my car home tonight, and it has already started, unloading my car onto my street i had 2 cop cars wanting my registration and insurance. and wondering where the car came from and what it is doing here. Haha.
How i recieved the car almost a year ago as a roller, no bumpers, no trim, interior all removed but 90% there, no engine, missing and hack harnesses. Haha. I will have some new ones tomorrow. For now the old ones.

The most major rust on the car. Lower left. Other then that it is clean.
