Yea I am going to upgrade, I really didn't want to do it right this minute, I wanted to use that loot for something else, but oh well, lets talk alarms, what is a decent alarm if I want to spend around 300-400, and where would you buy yours from, and would you install it yourself or have someone professionally install it?

I went out there and there was this button under the dash that worked, but my alarm started going off first, so I popped the hood and yanked the wire to the horn on the alarm, lol.......

I mean I just ripped mine out and have 0 intentions of putting one back in.
I trust my quick release to be more of a theft deterrent than the alarm.

I was thinking of putting in a viper alarm... they cost around 300-400 I think. Is this a bad idea? lol

I had a Viper 2 way pager alarm for years.
Had someone else put it in a long time ago. Big mistake as it was a nest of wires and took me some time to pull it out recently.

My alarm turned out to be more of a headache than good.

This was about 80% of it:

Yup, I have a tendency to slide down in my seat as I drive. Not sure why but I'm always re correcting my position. Like having to push my *** back into the 90 degree section of the seat (where the seat cushion meets the seat back)

When I was younger I had a shop put an alarm in my EG. Big mistake. They did a terrible job. Now that I have been working on cars for years now I have almost zero tolerance for **** work. Everything is soldered, heat shrinked, and properly looped and ran. When you do your own alarm install (which I would highly recommend) you can install it YOUR way. I always run my wires cleanly, hide the alarm brain and mount the shock sensor to the actually dash frame. Half the time they zap strap it to something like a wire loom, WTF?

I just fixed a horrible wire tap on my DB1 I just purchased. The poor old owner was unlocking his doors by key for the last year as 1 day he said the power locks stopped working. I sourced it down to a crap *** solder wire tap job. 15 min later and some supplies I had it working like a charm. Nothing is worse then redoing a hack job.

I love compustar for the quality of the brain, long range, and nice 2way remotes. I hate them for their ever failing shock sensors causing the alarm to randomly scare the **** out of you.

I just recently purchased my second marksman alarm (I have one form 2004 on my DA9 and one from 2011 on my EF). I have to say for a typical alarm with decent range and good battery life I like it.

I say a kill switch (fuel and starter) and hub release prevent the vehicle from being stolen as a whole.

A club, alarm and a clean car (we know junkies love a smash and grab for change) are great visual things to use to avoid smashed windows.

Overall the more you can show visually that your car will be a pain in the *** to steal, the better lol.

Crap iPhone pic but you get the idea of my new DB1. It snowed a foot last night so it's staying in the garage for now. More pic's to come as I get the digi cam charged up for some daytime shots.

These are next to go in. Had to buy these, so mint

I picked up a b18b1 head that was rebuilt at 5k miles and now has 20k miles on it. It has skunk2 springs and retainers, skunk2 stage 2 cams.

Anyone care to give me their input on this? Is this any good? What range of power am I looking to get. Pretty much I wanna know the best way to go about doing this and just wanted to see some opinions out there. I'm sticking to an LS, too many times Ive been told to do a gsr swap and I just decided against it.

rosewood brown metallic

Color code yr-503m

it's a factory color, just not that common I think. Haven't seen many this color as it's not grey and it's not brown. Somewhere in the middle...lol

Hmm, I would probably not buy something like this, I would say to just double check all work and maybe look into a rebuild of your own for this.

Also are you sure they are Skunk 2 cams? I didn't think Skunk2 made LS cams.

good call matt. i didn't even catch that till you said something. skunk2 does not make non-vtec cams. better double check on that one. either someone's tryin to pull a fast one on you or they don't know what they're talking about. as for the rest of the setup, i'd throw some b16 pistons in the block and bump the compression up. higher comp with a good head setup will be some decent fun.
