nice thanks for the info. i think im going to pick one of these emblems up just to have around.
yeah thats what i heard. i'm pissed that i didn't get to go. everyone around here was being really gay about going and i got screwed out of it. so i worked on my dc and a friends dc all day.
yeah, i saw a lot of people posting in the thread on here about the event about being worried of the weather
I have a header/oil pan question for all you guys. I currently have a stock pan with a JG edlebrock 4-2-1 headers and my headers are touching my pan and ive been driving like that for a few months without any problems. BUT the other night i got pulled over because my car was smoking pretty bad from under the hood but not bad enough that i noticed untill i was in the cops spot light. so today i climbed up under to check the tourq on my pan bolts because i put a new gasket on a few weeks back and figured they had started loosening up, which some of them did so i tightened them all up again and let it run to burn off at the remaining oil and noticed that there is a very slight leak coming right between the header down pipe and the pan. so my question is if there are any header setups that will move the pipe off of the pan? there isnt even really enough room to slide a shop rag in between to remove the oil. im waiting for it to cool off again so i can pull the down pipe inorder to see if there is a crack in the oil pan

Why was it smoking? Do you have an oil leak somewhere? Possibly too much heat touching the pan?
I've never seen a header hit the pan but it my be made for something with a smaller deck height like a B16 or so, an since I'm assuming you have an LS, that's the reason it rubs.
I'd get that fixed ASAP.
You're writing is tough to read through but I'll take a stab at it!

the motor is the stock 90 ls with a set of what i was told were b18 edlebrock jg series headers.
i just sprayed the whole motor down with degreaser to see if i can spot the leak because i thought the pan bolts came loose. i tightened all of the bolts again and ran it and there was a slight drip/stream coming from right between the header and pan.
im praying that the pan doesnt have a hairline crack in it because this is my DD and i dont get paid tell friday.
whats some good headers that have a decent price tag on them?
i pulled the headers and sure enough they had rubbed a very small hole into the pan.
so now my question is if anyone is familiar with the edelbrock jg model 6752? and why if it is infact for a b18c1 then why the down pipe is so stinking close to my ls oil pan?

I finally installed my JDM thin side moldings today! I know, it's nothing big but I think it looks a lot cleaner now.

That part # looks like it's for a GSR, which should fit fine then. Is it bent or is the exhaust pushing it up against the pan?
I know there are a few different oil pans but not sure how physically different they are.
I know they make a lot of knockoff headers now.
Toda or Bisi knockoffs are they way to go, there is a really good thread in the ALL MOTOR section comparing about 4 of these headers. Believe the Toda knockoff made more peak and mid range power over all others.
Yikes, get a new pan stat!

the header its self is not bent at all, its in perfect shape but for some reason when its bolted down even without being connected to the piping it is directly on my my pan, as well as the hole for the o2 sensor lines up almost directly with the passenger cv axle and crushes the sensor against the actual block.
as for with the piping on, i bolted the header down and we built the setup directly from the header back so its not pushing it against the pan what so ever.. maybe somehow i got a different pan because when i bought the car the kid had thrown a rebuilt b18a1 motor in and it all checked out but im not sure whats going on with this pan situation.
sorry if my post is hard to read.
This is my Da that i just cleaned up and did a couple things too. I will be refreshing the headlights, paint, moldings, and other exterior parts before the winter. Hope you guys like it, tried to keep it clean and simple
thats if he really does it. my boy was telling me he is kinda shady but if he wants to keep my business he'll come through.... ill know in a few days

Yea, good luck! Let us know how it goes!
