Just another pay to play item, sure you could get a cast manifold which will take longer to crack and not flow as much air as the tubular unit.

Rings are also a finite part and wear out, nothing "blew out", it's only common sense to replace them now while everything is apart.

And cracked blocks happen to everyone pushing their setup, that's why people started the sleeving process.....
You're getting me confused with the guys who said the car wasn't built right. i never denied that. I know those manifolds crack, i knew about Dave's cracking forever ago.

Its my belief that even a turbo honda built right will have failures. You either proved this or you didn't build it right. I believe it was built correctly. But you are not the only one that has proved my theory. I understand that these issues are common among FI cars.

I built my current car to drive it. It's a lot more fun on the road then on the dyno.

this is all true.

hold on now. I never hit vtec on the highway unless im speeding and hit it in 5th. When i hit 8-9000 rpm its exiting a 35 mph turn. This happens 80 times a day once a week. That is comparable beating that a car takes at a track. In fact I would say that driving hard for 12 seconds, and then letting the car sit for a half hour is much less beating.

i need a little help guys. i went down to my garage just a min ago and i got hit with the smell of gas! i looked in my bay and the fuel line coming thru the firewall that was taped with blue masking tape was soaked with fuel and the floor was soaked also. so i opened the doors to the garage and then opened the gas cap and there was a ton of back pressure. should i just leave the cap off to keep this from happening? it has been very humid for the past day.

I'm just looking for people that have had experience with it.
There a few minor things in the process that I'm curious about.

Bond, how are you going to route your dump tube?
Well if you creep my build thread from looking at the pictures I posted basically straight out towards the rad then a 90 across (horizontal) to kick it towards the motor then a 45 type of bend and then straight down. Keep it even with the bottom of the traction bar and right behind it. Sort of snake it between the rad and then between the manifold and rad support/ traction bar. Going to be a real squiggly one haha. But at 60mm it shouldn't hurt flow hehe. I think that makes sense??? lol

Take some pics of your motor going together. I need something interesting to look at

That's strange my fuel line at the firewall has been dissconected for over a year and that has never happened.

It's not eBay. It's from a shop that used to be in MI called Payne Technologies. It's from 2002 and has never required rewelding and the last car it was on made 400 whp.

Go check out the Forced Induction forum, there is an FAQ which will list everything you need.
Sleeving all depends on your goals and wallet. If you can't afford to sleeve the motor (about $3k) then stock sleeves will hold for moderate power.
14psi is all relative to the turbo so it really depends.

Good luck!

3k? It can be done for 1.5 - 2 k. $600 for the sleeves and maybe $800 to $1k for the install.

edit-
check out this price!

What if you reuse the internals you have right now?
