When I first saw the plates used to bolt to the body I was a bit taken aback, they looked really small to me. The first bar I went to look at I actually assumed was a cheaper knock off until I looked into it further. But Autopower is one of the bolt-in bar/cage manufacturers that actually gets their stuff OK'd by sanctioning bodies like SCCA and NASA. Depending on the specific application Autopower bolt-in products can be used legally in various forms of racing. Something that not all manufacturers can say, especially not something the likes of Cusco/Safety21.
My only complaint is that the main hoop is a bit far back, it's behind the B-pillar bar. If it were further forward it would provide better rollover protection. However, my seating position is pretty far forward since I'm short and the location of the main hoop isn't so much a design flaw but something they had to do in order for it to fit properly and work for a wide variety of drivers.

This was also an issue for me after installing my bar. I even had doubts about it being a DA bar and have yet to call Autopower to confirm but no need now. I see that this is the way it is. Luckily for me, my bucket seat isn't very far forward and leans back about 3 clicks so I'm closer to it.
I'm still messing with the set-up so interior is a work in progress.
This was before the seat adjustments. You can see how the bar is leaning back though and not exactly in-line with the B-pillar like it should be. I really want to call Autopower and ask why they did this though, must be a reason, it just seems wrong.

ok guys i need your input on this ive had a rhd da6 clip for about 8 months now yea i know it couldve been done but between school n work i dont have time to work on it .... right now i have the chance to get a 92 gsr shell pretty minty and i have a b17 motor i can put in there what do you think i should do ?

and a complete waste of labor and moneys! IMO at least...........Pick up the GSR and throw a motor in it, B17 or not. Could probably sell that to some fan boy or throw it in it's rightful home!

Wow, you are too much. I work in a testing lab that, among other things, does crash tests. I can assure you that some foam isn't going to save your head from jack besides bumps getting in and out of the car. When you get in a wreck at 35 kph, the seat in your car will completely deform just from your weight. Believe it or not, your head will do the same thing. But then you die. I think you've hit your head too many times already because you put 3+ punctuation marks at the end of every sentence, FYI.

Since you mentioned nothing of competiting in any type of legit racing events. And people already stated how safe it ISN'T. So why pursue it and waste your money.
Go somewhere and have one made specifically for your car..

Lol, only the DA thread. Every other chassis thread is so koombaya. I bet there's 100+ lurkers in this thread who would post if they weren't worried about getting drilled. You see them come out when the thread gets silent for awhile, haha.
