Re: what is the highest hp made on pump gas by a b-series motor? (alexsracing)
Im not a big fan of pushing motors on pump gas but I have had a few freaks,
84mm GSR Top mount SC61 18psi 510whp
84mm B20VTEC ram horn SC61 20psi 540whp
83mm LSVTEC custom ELF manifold GT35R 526whp @ 23psi (boost creep)
All were on Hondata S300. I dont remember much else about them. If and when I have a little more say about the boost level or if I can talk the customer out of turning it up more, I dont normally run more than 450ish on 93 octane.

i agree with stoopid i try to stop at 400-450, but have also made 510 with s300
it just makes so much more sense to put some good gas in the tank, and do it reliably

Yea all of the better tuners out there I think agree that tuning beyond like 450 whp on 93 octane is not very safe. I have seen some of Jeff Evans motors hit like 480 whp on 93 octane at 15-16 psi, but I know he won't go past 500 whp from what I was told.. Really after 450 whp on the street...are you really going to notice another 30-40 whp anyway? haha

haha for real. There is a Sunoco about 10 mins from me that has like 108-110 octane...something like that lol. But its not worth running that in a weekend warrior car because you'll go through some O2 sensors! haha

Thread title says highest HP from pump gas.
Not highest HP from the cheapest gas.
Ok, I'll stop gaying up the thread. Continue.

They are not very common on the east coast. From what I've heard, E85 is available throughout many of the midwestern/ west coast states. Correct me if im wrong here. Besides 450whp on the street is wreckless enough. Its too much power for street tires; moreover, you cant drive on slicks all day. I dont understnad why people push their motors past that. Also, if your gonig to the track race gas is available. Why not use it?

I've got 9 within 20 miles of my house. I run on E85 and have no issues finding a station. It's getting more mainstream, just give it time. There are flex fuel vehicles being sold by the Big 3, it's gonna be everywhere before too long.
New gas stations that are built will likely carry it for the mostpart, but older stations aren't gonna see it. Give it time.
