Question about T3 60-1 on stock GSR?
I found a really good price on this turbo from a friend. This would be going on a stock '99 GSR with basically a DRAG kit and Greddy Type 24, still using the DRAG manifold also. Here are the questions I'm more concerned about:
1. With using this turbo on the DRAG manifold andTial 35mm wastegate, will I have a problem with boost creep? (main concern)
2. At about what RPM will this turbo hit full bost on my car? (9-10 psi)
And if I said that I can pick this up for $375 practically new, what would you say?
Thanks for all your help.

What is the a/r of the turbine housing. That will have the most noticeable effect on spool time. Terry (boostfed) had a built B16 that was about 1750cc with a T3/60-1 and a .82 a/r turbine housing. It made 500 whp but power didn't come on until well past 5k.

I assuming "practically new" means it's used.

Yes practically new means it's used, but still in great condition.
I'll try to find out what the A/R is on it for you guys today.

Re: (speedy108)
I used to run a t3 60-1 .63 a/r housing on a stock gsr motor with a headgasket, I had full boost at 5500, using a max rev manifold, 3" turbo back exhaust.
With the 35mm tial gate I only experianced 1psi of creep at 15psi.
I personally wouldn't trust that drag manifold as far as I could throw it with that turbo, but thats just my oppinion.

Re: (newgsr)
Thanks for the response guys. I appreciate everyones opinion and it makes it easier for me to make a choice. I think I will just bite the bullet and go with the SC34.

Why such a big snail for only 7 psi? Good price?
Speedy - I would look into the AR of that 60-1 before you shell out the big ching on a SC34. Cause if you can find a bit lowe AR on it - you could see boost early and possibly even :similar: to the 34.
