thats great, im glad you have found someone you can trust. in this industry its very hard to do so. i have a motor here with omni springs and retainers, hasnt failed me yet
Its like everyone hates (for the most part on HT) Endyn. yet Cheetah stands by him. well if Cheetah gets results (regardless of what other people say) , then i respect cheetah for his decision. i have no problem with that. but if someone came in here and said Cheetah was a fool for trusting Endyn, then i think that is poor judgement. if someone doesnt like endyn, that has no bearing on Cheetahs decision , he feels comfortable with that company.

Opening up another can of worms there Mike!!! GEEESH!!! lol

you know everytime i've contacted endyn, they've always been beyond informative and super knowledgeable. so i can understand why cheetah stands by them.

Curious if there is any big boost cars running any of the top valvetrain manufactures listed on that list?
If there is, have you seen problems when using that companies Ti retainer with stock keepers? like the valve pulling through the retainer?
And after the mentioned valve pulled through and the valve hits the piston did the valve bend or did it break?
Would you say they are only good for NA street cars?

Well as mentioned before I ran the Skunk2 springs and retainers in a stock head, made 616whp with 28psi. I ran the springs in the head for 3-4 years . Stock keepers

any other cars besides your own Rocket?
28psi might seem like alot of boost to some but I was thinking more of the 40+ boost we see in a Hot Rod class engine. This is where in my opinon a true hardcore product shines..a product that survives in these conditions will last in any application that is not as extreme. Considering a Hot Rod class Honda makes in excess of 1000whp(a fast one at least)
And as I asked before, if the valve where to fail would it bend or break?

I mostly use Ferrea,as Dave said it's very hard to beat the quality they have. That being said I've had a customer bring me Rocket's spring's and retainers to install and they looked good to me haven't heard anything bad from the customer and it's been about a year I guess so I'd recommend them also.

We do 45psi with 50psi spikes and have some 850whp passes with 900whp spikes on the dyno.
We also have 2 other cars with 600+whp with the same valvetrain in daily drivers.
There is also Turbotegb18c with undisclosed power running the valvetrain.
No reported instances of valves pulling thru ever over here. If that did happen everybody would know it since 95% of RM users are on H-T.

Man you read quick. I decided to leave that out of my post.
Just providing people with info.
You and Head say Ferrera is awesome. That's a information for people to use. I have nothing against that.

Well somebody gotta be on top...
I've had absolutely no problems w/Ferrea in 4+ years so it's hard for me to change w/o a very good reason.
On the other hand I've had a brand new ported B16 destroyed on the dyno by a valve that broke like a piece of pie.It developed a tiny crack in the center of the valve and the heat caused a blow torch effect into the valve that melted the valve stem and then went right down the stem into the guide boss and blew into the water jacket on the exhaust port.It really pissed me off because it was a sponsorship deal and I then had to do another head for free just 2 weeks after doing that one.Not to mention the fact that the valve's 45 seat was .060 lower on the valve massively decreasing the valve lash adjustment to almost nothing. The valve manufacturer of course denied all of this being his fault. But to keep from getting sued I can't name the maker unfortunately.

They were the old design; since then, they have redesigned their setups and I havent heard of a single situation where these have broken.
Rocket, sure your stuff has had the snap fit setup since day 1. But when was day 1? it wasnt that long ago. Stop hinting that you are so much better than them and so much smarter because you are current with today's technology. Your stuff is decent for its price, but its not anything special.
And Omni, how can you go out and put down the company who taught you EVERYTHING. Would you like to see posts everytwhere with people showing your products breaking? I mean, we all know of some products that have had some problems. All companies have problems. When you mass produce products and sell a mass quantity or parts, the account numbers will go up, but the percentage will stay the same.
Stop hating on the other companies or hinting towards them. I feel that you both need to keep more of a professional attitude in situations like this.

Greetings! I have heard many good things about your message board from Jeff
G.
I just received a couple "OH ****!" phone calls/confessions today from 2
employees regarding comments made on your message board. And so here I am,
at work on Saturday trying to clean up the mess.
I have been reading through everything i can find being posted on behalf of
our Skunk2 Racing under the names you have listed.
I must make it very clear that, with exception to our marketing and PR
department, no one is authorized to make any comments on behalf of Group-A
Autosports, Inc.
I can understand some of the negative feelings that certain people here have
for Omni here. I don't want to get into to many details, but there were
several lawsuits and even criminal proceedings with respect to some of those
situations. However, regardless of what happened, I have always counselled
employees to take the high road and not engage in non-productive arguments.
For your information, Group-A does not allow employees to use their
computers to 'chat' online. We restrict instant messanging, etc.
But, with 20 people here with internet access, it is hard to monitor, let
alone control peoples activities. I can guarantee you that as a result of
this situtation, we will be looking into ways to better monitor and restrict
the internet activities of employees. And, as a result of your comments, i
will be investigating an even more serious matter.
In the last 2 years, Group-A Autosports has been diligently working on
distancing itself from gossip and scandal. I do not want any scandals, such
as this, to mitigate our efforts. I would respectfully ask if you could do
the following for me:
1) Block Group-A Autosports' company IP address from posting on your message
board.
2) Block any other remote IP addresses associated with the names you listed
from posting on your message board.
3) Remove all posts made by the names you listed.
4) Remove any posts made that would indicate an association between the
names you listed and Group-A Autosports/Skunk2
I would appreciate your help and would be deeply grateful for your
cooperation.
Please call me if there are any problems, or if I can further answer any
questions you might have. Cell: 310-871-1343

Yes a valve.
Normally I would agree w/you but in this case it didn't even make a full pull on the dyno before it went and the way it broke it was in no doubt a defect.
It wouldn't have upset me so much if the manufacturer was a little more understanding of the situation they didn't even care to see pics before telling us it wasn't their fault.
Considering they were also sponsoring the guy you would think they would at least want to see if they did have some problems.
I've been doing this for some time now and I think I know how to measure a valve's dimensions by now.
But no it couldn't possibly have been their fault. It was dismissed as impossible by them.I will never assemble another head w/that companies parts EVER.I hope the maker reads this because I'm sure he'll remember it from this summer.
Needles to say the new head got Ferra valvetrain prroblem SOLVED.

I think I remember you posting something about that.
Well if customers want, there is an option to have every single critical piece of the motor magnafluxed, x-rayed, hardness checked, microscoped....what ever is applicable to check for surface, sub-surface, and internal flaws. Even then there is no guarantee you'll avoid disaster.

Best Regards,
David Hsu

why dont you erase his personal cell phone number from the internet. i dont think he would appreciate it.
Im just saying Omni, it seems you obviously have a huge axe to grind, and i think you should go about it a different way. this thread isnt about your personal problems with Skunk2 or why you dont like them anymore, they did you wrong etc etc.

my .02 again. Just saw that write up by hsu and thought that was THE best way to handle a situation. It is professional companies like that, which have huge rigs and race cars, something they do must be working. Must be working for a while.

4) I was asked specifically to come up with a lighter spring for the Taiwanese based cams. I sat down and specified wire size, picth, free lenght, end coil configuration, spring rate, inner diameter at a specified interference fit.
From what I see you don't have any deeper understanding of springs other than they are metal and springy.

So if you came up with your spring design, what did the K constant end up at?
Just curious.
