underground racing cams? products?
I just bought a ton of stuff from their site. Coilovers, front & rear camber kits, LCAs, and free tee shirt. they have a deal going on now for free shipping & 10% off. Plus free tee shirt for orders over 199. Order was placed today & shipping ground. I expect delivery to be in a week or so. I can re-post afterward to inform on my opinion of quality afterward.

not necessarily...look at the price of omni power coil overs..cheap compared to tein..quality is just as good...honda **** is overpriced in general...the cams are chill cast and cnc machined...theyare just as good as well known companies...everyone has to start somewhere...i already ordered their sk2s2 cams and am just waiting for my head to come back from the machine shop so i can install it...

We'll see, I haven't heard anything about them. In some cases there is a difference in how durable some products are. This is one of them, some has to test them to know though. I bought some strut bars for $25 a piece and they hold like Spoon, and so on. In some rare cases there is a reason that things are over priced.
well i finally got my head all back together and have tried ordering from their website for two days in a row and im still having problems....it wont let the order go through...well i found their number is in the 626 so hopefully they will just let me go n pick it up tomorrow...ill keep everyone informed on their quality and performance.
My order went through no problem. I missed the delivery today, so I will be sitting home all day tomorrow. So far I have had good dealings with them, and will update as to the quality of the parts I have coming tomorrow.

i have had nothing but bad experiences with WEB dating back to 1998.
i have had 3 cams from them and one set of valve springs...all of the cams were HORRIBLE profiles and truely represent why regrinds have been far surpassed in todays market by manufacturers who use fresh profiles...
i truley believe that unless you are a professional racer, you will get a poorly performing profile from Web...i gave them THREE tries to make me happy with atleast ONE good profile and they failed every time.
the valve springs? ha- i had a set of double springs and broke an outer spring @ 3k...i called Laurie and asked her to help me out on this one, just send me another spring. They harassed me about install height, that of which was to their SPEC with their SHIMS...i got so fed up and the nonsense that i told Laurie that I am switching to Crower ****...
I have run Crower's single springs and retainers for 50k with no issues and not ONE sign of wear on the retainers, and have run two of Crower's profiles (stage 2 then stage 3) with incredible results and success...
to the orig postee, i do not have experience with UGR, however, why not take a look at Crower's cam offerings? Their DOHC VTEC aggressive cams are now avail for around 500 a pair and the profiles, whether it's a 403 or 413 are well researched and applied.

egh, there's plenty of threads about crowers breaking.
in my opinion it's purely on the grinder who's grinding the cams.
buttttttt since you've never worked for web or crower builthatch, i won't expect you to know that and i understand why you're pissed at web.

I'll vouch for UNDERGROUND RACING....
bought the coilover sleeves.... they were sent out the next day, and i got em the day after that.
every email and question i had for jaime was answered promptly... (that day or the next day)
and that was about 10 emails
good customer service, quality products.

Crower now promotes a stronger core program, however...that breaking cam issue has blown over. Crower does not make '****' and is legendary for making performing products unlike many of these new-fangled & UNPROVEN companies who's stuff is made in various overseas factories...this concept is great, do not get me wrong: Chinese, Korean and Taiwanese labor can be an incredible value, however, Skunk2 has shown that getting a grip on quality control can be tough at times when the factories are on the other side of the world. Crower had a batch core issue beyond their control and now it is fixed, has been for some time....Crower has sold thousands of cams for years and years and years and made alot of people happy. I am not saying give new companies a try and the best of luck to UGR and other like them, however, I thoroughly believe that Crower has a superior product for many applications.
also....
I would say it is pretty obvious that the person who is grinding the cams would be responsible for the resulting profile
...you lost me with your comment about me not working for Web or Crower...what does that have to do with anything? The three times i approached Web to grind me cams, i left it up to Steve to use his supposed knowledge to make the best and most powerful cams for my application...I have a pretty deep knowledge of camshaft theory and application, however, I am not running a performance camshaft company, he is. I told him what i had and what my goals were, and he ground the cams in an effort to reach them. He did not fulfill my request for a powerful cam profile ONCE...they were crap, all three. And on-top of that they were overpriced and did not give one ounce of help when their overpriced valve spring failed. Now, on the flip side, Brian Crower has not disappointed and has given me a superior cam TWICE that performed as promised and in fact has exceeeded expectations as well as other valve train bits that have done their job for 50K miles.
